"Lucas, it's three in the morning. What are you doing here?"
Lucas looked at Rosé. "I missed my best friend," he said. "Now, if I may ask, what are you two doing coming home at three in the morning?"
"We were meeting Rosé's parents," Jennie said.
"Even her sorry excuse of a dad?" Lucas asked.
"Seriously?" Rosé looked at him.
The boy shrugged.
"Yeah," Jennie nodded. "He's pretty awful."
"I guess you can tell where she gets her attitude from."
Rosé nudged Lucas in his side. Lucas gave her a playful smile, then turned his attention back to Jennie. He looked at the girl in silence and narrowed his eyes. Jennie raised her eyebrow. All of a sudden his face softened.
"Bad dream?" he spoke softly.
Rosé was a little shocked. It was crazy to her that Lucas could figure out what was wrong with Jennie just be looked at her face, or her body language. She wished she could do that. Maybe she would be able to if she didn't always find different reasons to break up with the girl.
"Yeah," Jennie responded. "I'm okay now, though."
Lucas smiles. "Good," he said. "Go upstairs and try to get some rest. You look tired."
"I'll be up there in a second," Rosé said as Jennie got off of the couch.
The two sat in silence until they heard the couple's bedroom door shut. Lucas immediately turned to Rosé.
"They'll all be here by tomorrow," he said.
"Oh, thank goodness," Rosé said.
"So, tell me what your plan is."
"I wanna take her to the spot," the girl said, "my spot. Then I'm gonna have Jimin walk out, just to give her a lil nostalgia, you know."
"And what exactly is Jimin going to say?" Lucas asked.
Rosé smiled. "Now that would ruin the surprise, wouldn't it?"
"You're lucky I'm tired from that flight, otherwise I would fight you on this," Lucas said. "So, tomorrow evening, right?"
"Yep," the girl stood from her spot on the couch. "I'll see you in the morning. Take any guest room you want."
"Night!" Lucas said goodbye.
Everyone in the house went to sleep late, but they were woken up early by the sound of the doorbell ringing constantly.
"Rosé," Jennie groaned, "go answer the door."
"Lucas is down there," Rosé mumbled, grabbing Jennie by her waist and pulling her closer to her.
"Rosé!" Lucas yelled from downstairs. "Go answer the door!"
Jennie giggled as Rosé groaned and rolled out of bed. A string of cuss words and complaints came from the girl's mouth as she went downstairs to answer the door. She finally opened it and there was the whole gang.
"Rosie!" Ten yelled.
Rosé was not having it. She looked them up and down, then walked away.
"Someone woke up on the wrong side of the bed this morning," Chris said as they entered the house.
"No, I woke up on the right side, just at the wrong time," the girl ran her hand through her hair. "Why did you guys ring the doorbell so many times?"
"We all rang it once," Hendery smiled, putting his bag down.
Rosé looked back at them with disgust all over her face. "Seriously?"
"Uh, yeah," Mark said. "What else would we have done?"
"What was the constant ringing of the doorbell about, babe?" Jennie asked as she walked down the stairs.
The singer stopped in her tracks as she looked at her group of friends. "What on earth?"
"Happy birthday!" the group exclaimed.
Lucas came from down the hallway, pouting. "You guys were supposed to wait on me!"
