"I told you two to be careful," Soyeon scolded the girls as she drove them to YG.

"We were," Rosé said.

"No, you weren't. If you were, those pictures wouldn't have been released," the manager said. "Jennie, you're being awfully quiet."

Jennie was sitting in the front seat with her head against the window. Soyeon glanced over at her and saw a tear slip out of her eye. Then she couldn't stop.

"Jennie?"

Sobs.

"J," Rosé placed her hand on her girlfriend's shoulder, to which she shrugged off.

"They can't do that, Soyeon," Jennie sobbed. "How could they do that?"

"That's what they do, J. Calm down—"

"They just outed me to all of Korea and you want me to calm down?" the singer glared at her manager through her tears. "They don't release gay couples. They said it themselves. So, why me?"

"Because you're Jennie Kim," Soyeon said. "You're the most popular idol in Korea. They're going to do what they want when it comes to you."

"This isn't fair," Jennie ran her hands through her hair. "None of this is fair."

"Calm down, baby," Rosé said, softly. "We're going to figure everything out."

"You can't be crying when we go in," Soyeon parked in her spot. "There's hundreds of cameras waiting to get pictures of you."

Jennie pulled the visor down, looked in the mirror, and tried to fix her makeup. She wiped her face, faked a couple of smiles, and was ready to go. Rosé watched her, flabbergasted. That is not how you get someone to stop crying. Jennie got out of the car and Soyeon went to follow her, but Rosé grabbed her shoulder.

"That is not how you get someone to stop crying," Rosé said.

"She has things to do right now. She can cry later. Let's go."

"That's sick."

"Let's go."

Rosé let out a scoff, getting out of the car. She went to go comfort Jennie, but Soyeon got in between them.

"No," she said, sternly.

Jennie put on her sunglasses as they approached the cameras. She and the other two ignored all questions and went inside the building. They immediately went up to the CEO's office and waited for him to speak.

He looked at Rosé, then at Jennie.

"I'm not mad," he said.

The tension in the room calmed down a bit.

"However, the rest of Korea is eating you alive right now," he said. "Those reporters outside will not post any of those pictures, because they'll catch a lawsuit. We've contacted Dispatch to let them know they're about to be sued as well."

Jennie nodded.

YG sighed, rubbing his temples. "Roseanne has to go home."

Rosé nodded. That was expected.

"Only until this all calms down. She'll go home on her jet with the rest of your friends," he said. "As for you, Jennie..."

Jennie looked up to him with wide eyes.

"You will start dating someone."

"What?" Rosé asked.

"Not actually. I'm not asking you two to break up. It'll only be a publicity stunt."

"But—"

"It's already been decided. There's no changing my mind," YG looked at Rosé. "The idol you'll be dating is Jackson Wang."

"I've never met him," Jennie said.

"You will soon. You and Roseanne will say your final goodbyes tonight, you will meet with Jackson tomorrow," her CEO said. "The relationship will be nothing more than a few dates, hand holding, and a few shared kisses."

"What the hell?" Rosé was pissed off. Now she remembers why she left the industry. "Jennie, day something."

Jennie looked at her with sadness in her eyes. "I have to save my career, Rosie."

"You career is more important than our relationship?"

"Roseanne, listen to me—"

"No," Rosé stood from her seat, cutting YG off. "Fuck you and this publicity stunt."

She left the room and they let her. YG and Soyeon looked at Jennie, who had a blank expression on her face.

"What time do I meet Jackson tomorrow?" she asked.

YG smiled. "Good girl," he praised the singer. "You'll meet him at noon."

"Is that all?" Jennie asked.

"Yes, it is."

Jennie nodded, standing from her seat. She left his office and walked to the bathroom with her head down. She looked in the mirror, letting a tear fall from her eye. Jennie sniffed, wiping her tears as they kept falling. She tried to keep quiet, but once the first sob came, she couldn't stop the rest.

She heard the locks to one of the stalls click, but didn't bother seeing who it was. When she felt familiar arms wrapped around her waist, she only cried more.

"Don't cry, baby," Rosé said.

"I'm sorry," Jennie whispered.

"It's out of your control," the older girl made her girlfriend face her. "It's okay. I'm okay. We're okay."

"No, we're not," Jennie tried to wipe her tears.

"We are," Rosé grabbed her hands, kissing her lips. "I promise."

The younger girl caught her breath and looked at her girlfriend through her tears.

"You promise?" she asked.

Rosé smiled, wiping Jennie's tears. "I promise."
