Jennie has gotten back to her hotel room safe and sound, but just barely. She had nearly gotten into three accidents because she couldn't see through her tears. At one point she even had to pull over to calm down. Lord knows what her company would do to her if she got in an accident.

She was sitting in bed trying to hold back sobs at the moment. She wished she could take everything back. She knew she really messed up when she noticed that Rosé could barely look her in the eyes. They weren't how they used to be, and they would probably never get back to that.

Jennie cried for what seemed like hours, until she finally cried herself to sleep.

After about an hour her room door opened, making her eyes open slightly.

"How'd it go?"

Jackson.

"Awful," Jennie grumbled. "We aren't getting back together."

"What?" Jackson came and sat at the end of her bed. "What happened?"

"Everything was off from the start. She wouldn't even look me in the eyes. She would barely let me touch her," Jennie said. "Then she told me she doesn't feel the same way about me. I think that was the icing on the cake."

"She'll come around," Jackson said. "I may not know her personally, but from the way you and everyone else around you talk about her, she really does love you."

Jennie shook her head. "I don't think I can do this anymore," her voice broke.

"What?"

"I don't think this idol thing is for me anymore."

Jackson looked at her. "You're saying you want to quit?"

"Yes."

"I'm glad."

Jennie looked at him. "What?"

"J, I can look at you and tell that this life isn't for you anymore," Jackson said. "You're not happy. You shouldn't be forced to do something you don't want to do."

Jennie didn't know how to respond. Nobody had ever really respected her decisions before. Not when it came to her career, at least.

"Really?"

"Really?" Jackson was confused. "Yes, really. You need a break. A long one. You can come back if you want, but I think it's best if you continue your life without being an idol."

"Oh," Jennie was surprised. "Thank you."

Jackson furrowed his eyebrows, giving Jennie a smirk.

"You're welcome?" he got off of the bed, putting the hotel key on the nightstand. "When we get back to Korea tomorrow, I have a friend to meet before our meeting with YG. Do you want to come?"

"Sure."

Anything to get out of talking to Soyeon. She didn't want to be met with any questions about "how it went."

Jackson smiled at her. "We leave for the airport in two hours," he said. "but first, we have to return the rental car."

"We should probably go ahead and leave now," Jennie said, getting out of bed. "Because if we don't leave now, we'll probably be late."

"You're not wrong."

The two quickly packed up the few things that took out of their suitcases, then went down to the car. Jackson drove it back to the rental place, then they got an Uber to drive them to the airport.

They engaged in a comfortable conversation until their plane was called, and by that time Jennie was near exhaustion. She slept the entire plane ride, only waking up when it was time to get off. They got their luggage, and when they got outside, there was a car waiting for them.

Of course, with Soyeon as the driver.

"Hey, guys," Soyeon greeted them as they got in.

"Hey," Jackson replied.

Jennie said nothing.

"Can you drop us off at Itaewon, then pick us up before the meeting?" Jackson asked. "We have something to do."

"Like what?" Soyeon asked.

"Minding our business," Jennie said.

"Lose the attitude."

"Lose the stick up your ass."

"Jennie," Jackson said, signaling for her to stop.

The idol rolled her eyes. Soyeon glanced at Jackson.

"I'm waiting," she said.

"I'm meeting a friend," he said.

The manager sighed, rolling her eyes. "Fine," she said. "You don't have long, though. I'm picking you up in an hour."

Soyeon took them to an outdoor café and Seoul and went on their way. The two sat there, waiting on Jackson's friend, not saying a word. Both were jet lagged and tired, but they had things to do, and being tired couldn't get in the way of it.

"Jackson?"

Jennie heard the familiar voice and the hair on her arms stood up. She looked at Jackson with wide eyes, but he didn't notice the fear in her eyes because he was too busy looking at his friend.

"Kai," Jackson smiled, getting out of his seat. "How've you been?"

Jennie turned around and there he was. The boy who sexually assaulted her in high school. She, of course, wasn't going to say anything about it to Jackson, not because she didn't want to ruin him meeting up with his friend, but because she was scared.

"I've been great," Kai looked down at Jennie. "Hey, pretty lady."

Jennie gave him an uncomfortable smile.

"I'm sure you know who this is," Jackson said to his friend. "Jennie this is Kai—"

"I know," Jennie said.

"Hm?"

Kai raised his eyebrow, surprised.

"You two know each other?" Jackson asked.

"I went to school with him in Australia," Jennie said. "and we were best friends in elementary."

"Sounds like he's following you."

"I wouldn't doubt it," Jennie turned away from the boys.

Jackson raised his eyebrow, sensing something off about the girl. He assumed it was just because she was so tired, but he would later learn that that was not the problem at all.

"Let's sit down," Jackson said to Kai.

"Okay," Kai nodded.

He sat beside Jennie, and Jackson sat beside him.

Kai smiled. "Let's catch up, shall we?"
