CHAPTER 20

LIHIM

(EVELYN HAVEN'S POV)

I woke up not because I sleep but I actually didn't. Hindi ako nakatulog dahil sa naganap kagabi. I am still in shock and processing everything.

Last night was something I am still processing on,  the song and everything he said and happen.

Flashback

"I'll be your soldier" nagulat ako when he held my waist towards him. I felt my heart race for unknown reason.

"Haven" aniya at tinitigan akong mabuti. I look down when I felt my cheeks heating up. He suddenly hug me and put my head on his chest.

I felt his heart beats na parang kasabay ng pagtibok ng puso ko.

"Can you hear it? How my heart beats for you?" Tanong niya and I can't help but feel my heart race faster.

I wanna ask him why he is doing this? Why me? Am I precious to him that he is willing to be my soldier?

"I know you are curious why I am doing this" aniya and heaved a sigh. Inilayo niya ako ng bahagya sakanya.

The sea breeze make me feel chills but his touch is like a fire that make me warm. Tinatangay ng hangin ang buhok ko at buhok niya making him more attractive in my eyes.

'Gods! What is even happening to me?'

"Diba I told you... I like you" aniya and I slowly nodded.

"I thought-" I was about to speak when he held me again and kiss the top of my hair several times.

"You thought I am kidding? No baby I won't be joking around with you with my feelings" aniya at hindi ako makapaniwala that those sweet words are coming from his mouth.

'Stop! I am slowly falling'

My head is in chaos and my heart is shouting him to stop for she is fragile to this kind of things.

"I want you to know my feelings. Everytime I close eyes you are there, I find happiness, care, and weakness in you. Hindi ko kaya na mawala ka. I will do anything kahit ibenta ko pa ang sarili kong buhay." aniya and held me more closer as his forehead touch my mine.

"I will court you Haven" aniya and claim my lips unexpectedly. My mind stop and my heart the wall I build is slowly breaking.

'I don't know what to do'

My mind dictates me to stop him but my heart is against it. I cannot think straight as I just know how his lips is so soft, sweet and his moves is like saying how much he likes me.

"Haven I just didn't like you. I fall inlove with you" aniya by then we heard a voice. Doon ako natauhan agad akong bumitaw sakanya.

"Nandito lang pala kayo! Let's eat!" Ani Leia and smiled at us as she drag Edward with her and as I watch them walked away.

'Why am I hurting?'

End of Flashback

Inalis ko iyon sa isip ko at bumango na. Agad akong nag-shower and change clothes. It is exactly 12'o clock in the afternoon but I am still deciding if I should go out or not.

In the end I decided to go out dahil na rin sa gutom.

'I cannot do anything magkikita at magkikita kami'

I keep repeating in my head to relax and clear my mind. Pagbukas ng pinto I was about to step when I notice a boquet of gumamela again in the door step with a note.

'Good Morning Haven hope you sleep well last night!' - Dashiell

Nilimot ko iyon lanta na ang mga bulaklak probably kanina pa ito. Kinuha ko iyon and put on the vase where I put his flowers last night.

Lumabas na ako at nadatnan na tahimik ang bahay. Mukhang nasa labas na naman sila playing probably. I started coughing again for I don't know reason.

'Probably nahamugan na naman ako kagabi'

"Hija buti at nagising ka na" ani Manang and I smiled as I saw her cleaning.

"Manang ako na po" presinta ko but shw refuse aniya ay hindi ko dapat ginagawa ang dapat ginagawa niya.

"Manang I am no longer a princess treat me like your grandchild not as your boss. You are no longer my servant Lola" sagot ko and unexpectedly she hug me.

"Matagal ko ng gustong magka-apo. Salamat hija." natuwa naman ako and hug her back.

"At saka Lola I wanna learn some household chores. Paano po ako pag nag-asawa na ako? I cannot trust my husband do this things" nakangiti kong ani.

"You can trust me with this" napalingon kami when we heard someone speak. Pawis na pawis na pumasok si Dashiell.

'I find it cute to call him Dashiell'

"Aba hijo pawis na pawis ka magkakasakit ka. Hija kumuha ka ng bimpo" wala akong nagawa kung hindi sumunod. Inutusan din ako ni Manang na punasan ang pawis niya.

'As a grandchild of her I should follow'

"Napakaganda niyong tignan. Nababagay nga kayo. Ikaw ba hijo ay nobyo ang apo ko?" Gulat na gulat ako na lumayo. Napatawa naman siya sa reaksyon ko.

"Hindi pa po. Soon po soon. Malay niyo sa susunod apo niyo na rin po ako" biro nito at kinindatan ako.

Umiwas na ako at dumiretso sa kusina. I saw a lot of dishes and so I decided to clean the kitchen. Habang naglilinis nakaramdam ako ng hilo.

'Probably dahil hindi pa ako nakain'

Nagpatuloy pa rin ako sa pag-iimis. I know how to do dishes but cleaning the house and doing the laundry is not.

'Ganun na ba ako kabuhay prinsesa?'

Napagdesisyunan ko na maglaba ng mga damit ko. I hear may washing machine naman sa baba. Nakasalubong ko si Lola and she told me that she will teach me how.

Pagbaba namin sinimulan na namin. She told me I should also know how to wash clothes using my hand. Ang sa mga batang damit ang napili naming labhan gamit ang kamay para daw hindi masyadong mabigat at mahirap labhan.

Binuhat ko ang timba when I suddenly felt dizzy. Nabasag ang timba and I fall. I tried to stand up but I really feel dizzy. And then someone help me.

"You should take care of yourself" napatingala ako and saw Dashiell is the one who is helping me.

Dinala niya ako sa kitchen doon inilabas niya ang isang porridge. Ininit niya iyon bago inihain sa akin.

I started eating hindi ko na ininitindi ang manners I am really hungry. And then I notice his stares natatawa siya while looking at me.

"What?" Tanong ko matapos maubos ang hinain niya. Kumuha siya ng tissue and then suddenly wipe my lips.

Natigil iyon when we heard the glass breaking like it hits the floor. Napalingon kami sa may pituan ng kitcher there we saw Leia.

'Sh*t!'

Napaupo siya agad namang lumapit si Dashiell sakanya but she refuse him helping her. Napanga-nga ako when I saw her hand is full of broken pieces of the glass.

"Huwag kayong lalapit." aniya at pilit tumayo alalay naman kami but she refuse to and then started to cry.

"Pinagkatiwalaan kita Evelyn."
