Amethyst St. Clair's POV"I will never let you out of my arms again, that's a promise."
I stood frozen in his arms as he whispered those words in my ear. The anxiety that sneaked into my spine the moment I learned that he was the guy who commissioned our company.
I pushed him as hard as I could putting some distance between us. "Like hell, I will let you do that!"
"Believe me, I can."
I glared at his annoying face. "I'm leaving I guess this meeting is over then."
I was about to leave when he was already blocking my way. There was a goading smile on his face while staring down at me. "You can't do that yet, love. You're staying with me until you finish your new schemes."
"Franco Calvetti..." I started to warn with a dangerous glint in my eyes.
"Yes, love?"
"Prince Francesco Calvetti!" I said with only threadbare patience left in me. "I don't have time to play games with you I suggest get out of my way this instant."
"Ah, now you're mad." He said sanguinely, his eyes held amusement in their depth. "But sorry. Can't let go of you yet."
"I don't have time for this." I hissed at him angrily. I pushed him away as I made my way to the door. I was about to reach the doorway when a shriek escaped me. "What are you doing? Put me down!"
I found myself over his shoulder like a bag of potatoes as we went outside of his study room and walked in the hallways.
"Are you crazy?" I asked, hitting my fist on his back. "Put me down!"
"Quiet!" He playfully smacked my rear with his hand. "You don't want to cause unwanted attention from the maids, are you?"
"If someone is creating unwanted attention here that's you, moron!" I replied to him acidly from my upside-down point of view.
"Quiet." He playfully warned me again. "If you don't stop talking I will silence you again with another method that you are familiar with."
"I don't know what you mean," I informed him through my gritted teeth. But deep inside I knew very well what he meant.
Laughter rumbled in him. "Is that so? Maybe I should remind you one of these days, my love. Let me refresh your memories."
We reached this certain room and finally, I was back to my feet. My eyes widened when I saw the room I knew from there that it was his room.
"Why did you bring me here?" I eyed him coldly.
He shrugged nonchalantly, his eyes were unreadable. "To help you get acquainted with your new room."
"My what?" I blinked at him, unable to believe my ears.
"Our room, to be precise."
I scoffed in his direction. This man was something in six years his confidence level didn't diminish for a bit. "What makes you think that I will share a bed—let alone a room with you again?"
He crossed his arms in the middle. "Because you don't have a choice, my love. This is the only room and bed available for you in this house."
"I sorely regret meeting you six years ago," I told him hotly, sending a glare in his direction.
"I beg to differ." He contradicted lightly. "We both know that you do not regret our encounter in Lake Como. You are just annoyed at the thought that sharing lodging with me can bring back old memories, right?"
