Amethyst St. Clair's POVSomething ruse me from my sleep and I realized that there were strong arms securely wrapped around me. I was still dreaming I swear because there was no way in hell I would find myself in this situation again.
I managed to open my heavy eyes and let out a small shriek when I realized that I was in Franco's arms.
I hurriedly tried to sit from the bed which made him also stir from his sleep. "What's wrong?" He asked sleepily.
"Wrong?" I repeated in disbelief. "Why I am sleeping in your arms? Where is Max?"
He yawned stretching his limbs. I looked away when his white t-shirt pulled upward in the process revealing his washboard abs. "I believe he went back to his room just before midnight."
"What?!" I removed the covers off me and went to my son's room barefoot. This can't be happening. "Max?" I called out his name.
I found him trying to sit on his bed while rubbing his still-sleepy eyes. "Good morning, Mommy."
"Good morning, darling." My annoyance with his father instantly vanished when I saw the ready smile on his face.
"Is there something wrong, Mommy?"
I carefully went to sit beside him on the bed and brushed off his messy hair with my fingers. "Nothing. I just want to check on you." I smiled down at him. "What do you like for breakfast?"
His eyes suddenly widened as if remembering something. He jumped off his bed and ran back to my bedroom. "I will ask Daddy what he likes for breakfast."
I smiled and just shook my head. That boy...I went back to my room to wash my face and brush my teeth. I also tied my hair at the top of my head as I went back to the kitchen and fixed our breakfast.
I decided to make pancakes and cook bacon and hard-boiled eggs for breakfast. While mixing the batter for the pancakes I already have my first cup of coffee for the morning it helps me start my day with ease.
Max and his father walked inside the kitchen when I was almost done cooking only the last batch of pancakes on the burner.
"Breakfast is almost ready," I announced placing the cooked food on the table. I looked at Franco and asked. "Coffee?"
"Yes, please."
I poured him a mug of coffee and placed it on the table with Max's glass of milk. I flipped the pancakes and waited for a few more seconds before placing them on the table.
"Let's eat," I said, taking the vacant chair on the table. "Sorry, I didn't have time to run to the local bakery for the famous bagel. I hope this will do for you."
"This will be more than fine." He answered with gleaming light brown eyes.
"Did you sleep well, Daddy?" Max asked after taking a huge bite of his pancakes.
"Yes, I did. You?" His father replied while helping himself with the bacon and pancakes.
Now that they mentioned it again I couldn't help but narrow my eyes on them. "Why did go back to your room last night? I thought you said we would all sleep in my room?"
"Sorry, Mommy." He stated with remorse on his face. "But I feel like being a sandwich between the two of you that's why I decided it's better if I sleep in my room."
I shook my head there's no point in arguing with that now. I dared to peek a glance at his father who remained silent eating his breakfast but I couldn't miss the self-satisfied smile on his face.
