"We can't find her sir. However I have some information that might be useful. We searched the butlers room and found a letter from Emi. He begged us not to take it from him..."

Luciano pondered over this revelation with a glass of whisky in his hand. He slammed his fist into the table causing it to groan and splinter in pain.

The contents of the note hurt. She detailed how she wished for him not to look for her when she left. How maybe this situation was for the best and that her presence in his life was all but a burden.

Luciano was confused. Emi had urged him to reconcile with his ex partner and live on without her. It didn't sound like her at all.

If that was what she wished then so be it.

Although he refused to remarry the wench who tried to snatch his children from him.

"Sir we need to leave now if you wish to catch the next plane." One of his assistants said quietly as she popped her head round his office door. He nodded shortly staying seated.

He dreaded the idea of returning home. It wouldn't feel like home without his woman or child to warm it.

Life had to go on.

It was hard returning home to his children. They asked him several questions wondering where their mama had gone. It made him angry at her.

He was angry that she had chosen to abandon his children. Yet another mother had run for the hills at the prospect of having to care for them.

He hated how she built such a strong relationship with them, so strong they called her mama, only for her to leave when things got hard.

To hell with her stupid pancakes. To hell with her kisses.

For Luciano he allowed that anger to overpower his other emotions. It was a coping mechanism. He wouldn't feel sad for her departure as long as he remembered how she abandoned them.

Although he tried to ignore what truly ate him up inside. It hurt that she abandoned their relationship to.

Luciano was never an insecure man but he couldn't help but wonder what scared women away from his house when he offered his love to them.

"I will not search for someone who doesn't desire to be found."
