'When a person tells you that you hurt them, you don't get to decide that you didn't.' -Louis C.K
Luciano knocked loudly on the heavy metal door that looked over him. 3 loud, 2 soft, 1 loud knock was the pattern he had been given in order to gain access into the run down building that stood before him.
He never thought she would lead him to a Bando.
The second the door creaked open Luciano forced his way in. "Yo g what you saying." A heavily intoxicated teenager asked him as he watched Luciano storm past him.
Luciano ignored him as he made his way through the building, opening and shutting doors. Luciano hardly blinked as he opened each door.
One had a group of young boys snorting cocaine from a battered table. Their eyes were as wide as saucers as their jaws swung back and forth like a pendulum as they laughed.
The other room had 2 women and 3 men getting it on. Another room had boys who looked around as young as 14 packing bags of drugs ready for their daily runs. Exploited as drug mules.
The last room had a scrawny man handcuffed to a bed as a woman grinded on him, syringe in hand ready to drug him. He was moaning in pleasure as she rocked back and forth.
The woman had something distinctive on her shoulder. A honeycomb tattoo that had been done on a drunk night out in Marbella.
Luciano stalked into the room ripping the lady off of the disorientated man. Her scream was heard as she fell of the edge of the bed and onto the hard wood floor.
The man cuffed to the bed whined as he complained about the disruption. Someone's dick wouldn't be getting tickled today.
Luciano walked around the bed before placing his hand on the mans neck. Luciano pinched down on the mans Carotid arteries watching as the man slumped. He would stay knocked out for a while.
"What have you done.?" Her wretched voice screeched through the room. Luciano snorted ignoring her question. He walked over to her slowly watching as she pressed herself further into the corner.
"I think the question is what have you done?" Luciano said lowly as he took in her appearance. Her once smooth face was now ridden with spots and scars. Her teeth appeared to be rotting and scars lined her arms.
"I did what needed to be done." She snarled back at him. Luciano couldn't help but physically recoil at the pungent smell that attacked his nostrils. He heard her scoff at his reaction.
"What did you gain from it if you knew we would never get back together?" Luciano pressed eager to get his answers as quick as possible. She laughed heartily before answering.
"I had nothing to lose. I've lost everyone and everything I ever cared about so why should I suffer while you get everything you have ever dreamed of." She hissed at him as she scratched at her arms.
"If I couldn't have you then why should she. What made her more worthy? Why does everyone want you but never me. Instead disgusting old men lust for me." She seethed as she stood up suddenly.
"Here I have a family. They want me. He wants me." She sighed as she made her way over to the man who lay immobile on the bed. She caressed his face smiling creepily at him.
"He doesn't want you he wants the drugs and pleasure you offer." Luciano stated quietly as he watched her move to the nightstand before rummaging rabidly through it.
Her head snapped to him at his comment eyes filling with rage.
"WHAT IF THAT IS ALL I HAVE TO OFFER AT LEAST IT IS STILL SOMETHING." She snapped at him pulling out a bag of pills and rushing to swallow them. Luciano lunged for the bag hitting it out of her hand causing them to scatter throughout the room.
Luciano watched as she gasped her eyes going wide as she scrambled to save each one. It was as if she was in a trance, her life indebted to the pills that lay scattered before her.
"What happened to you? Where did it go wrong?" Luciano whispered as he watched her frantically scavenge for the pills.
"WHEN I THOUGHT GETTING PREGNANT WAS THE ONLY WAY TO MAKE YOU LOVE ME." she screamed out through the silent room. He watched as she pounded her fists into the floor. "I saw how much you wanted children even if I didn't."
"It was always about the babies. When I was sick it was always 'are the babies ok' but never me. I did it for you. When the babies came it was always the babies 24/7. I didn't want that." She blubbered through the tears that cascaded down her face as she sobbed.
"I hated how they cried. How they milked me like a cow. How all they did was sleep and yet they still got more attention from you than I ever did." She fumed as she expressed her anguish.
Luciano stared at her his heart twisting in pity for her. He understood where she was coming from. However, the babies were innocent.
"Why couldn't you see that I didn't want that?" She sobbed as she lay down on the cold floor.
Luciano watched as she sobbed. He had never seen her so emotional in his life. He knew she didn't want children originally. They had spoken about it but she always thought he didn't listen.
He saw how miserable the pregnancy was for her. How sick she always got. Yet his main focus was his babies. Their relationship was to help improve his business. He needed the family image to keep the company up in the ranks and the babies solidified that.
It was selfish of him and he knew that.
Luciano walked to the door his shoes pounding heavily on the rickety floor board beneath him. He stopped at the door, his heart twisting at the sound of a woman who had been pushed to her breaking point sobbing on the floor.
She did this to herself but he understood the part he played in her demise.
"I'm sorry." He murmured the sound barely travelling throughout the room. Luciano cleared his throat before trying again. "I'm sorry." He admitted loudly.
Eliza barely turned to look at him but the sound of her cries notably quietened.
"Please get help." She heard him say before the door slammed shut.
Eliza embraced the sadness and guilt that attacked her as she dug her fingers into the floorboards.
The second the sound of his shoes echoing against the floor dissipated into an insufferable silence, she welcomed the hot tears that streamed down her face as she wallowed in self pity.
