I saw her wrongdoings as an allegorical rape. For she the foreign entity committed the unsolicited invasion of his cultivated lands.
I who resided with those who nurtured the land watched as he was colonised, his mind erupting with conflict.
The guilt of his betrayal gnawed at his mind.
He too neglected those who craved his love and attention and I was collateral damage.
It was meant to be me not her.
She would dress his wounds and force him to eat but it was I who sat with him in latest hours of the night and the earliest hours of the morning as he spoke his mind.
Our non sober conversations were the best conversations of my life.
"I fell out of love T."
"I feel trapped. I feel like a child with an overbearing parent."
"Then leave her."
He snorted at my suggestion before we fell into a loud silence.
"You know I heard this quote the other day. Fucking hell it was deep."
My chin balanced diligently on my palm as I watched him speak.
"What was it?" I whispered.
His tone of voice changed as he cited the text like an old wise man.
"It is strange how we describe the beginning of love as 'falling' when in fact, it is the end that is the fall. Love raises us up, higher than we ever dreamed possible. And the higher you go, the greater the fall when it's over."
"Why are you crying." His hand reached out.
"Like Adam she will be your downfall. Her fallacious fruit will end your happiness."

Some people are confused so just to clear itup. This isn't the ending it's just an introduction to another character that we haven't met yet. I recommend rereading chapter 1 to refresh your mind on an event that happened at the beginning :)
