Chapter 34: A Reader of Books

Y/n's P.O.V
After the kiss Meliodas and I shared he told the others not to make a move on me since I was his. That idiot...saying weird things. I am happy though because now Diane can't do anything to Meliodas!
"Y/n can you go shop for some ingredients with Elizabeth? Hawk will accompany you guys of course." Meliodas smiled as he began groping my rear end and I punched him away. Even if we're in a relationship I will still punch him for being a pervert!
"Sure and you're still a pervert huh?" I pouted at him but couldn't help but blush. I enjoyed his hands on me...though I won't ever tell him that.
"Is this even a good idea?" Hawk questioned while I held onto Meliodas' arm. I didn't feel shy about being affectionate like this anymore and it felt natural now.
"We're p-perfectly capable of going shopping!" Elizabeth huffed and I started to laugh. She was a princess so this would be her first time going out to shop like this.
"I didn't mean it as insult, it's just that the holy knights are after Y/n and if they don't get her they would take you Elizabeth." Hawk does have a point, it would be dangerous to go out but being here all the time makes me sad sometimes. I want to go out and explore like I used too.
"They can wear disguises~" Meliodas smirked pervertedly at me as he made me change into three outfits. Village girl, traveling musician, and his favorite...a bellly dancer.
"Um...I think Y/n would be fine in just a shall." Elizabeth sweat dropped as Meliodas began to try and take off my revealing belly dancer outfit.
"N-Not in front of Elizabeth and H-Hawk!" I stuttered out as I felt my cheeks heat up, that damn pervert..
"If you get into any danger just call out to me Y/n~ I'll come running!" Meliodas smiled cheerfully as he handed both me and Elizabeth a shall.
"Meliodas..." I mutter softly as I began to blush even more. No matter what he always found ways to make me fall in love with him even more.
"Good luck~!" Meliodas waved at us as we walked outside. I smiled and waved at him too.
"Whoever catches the most hunt wins!" Meliodas shouted and Ban immediately ran off to try to get a head start. Meliodas and King followed close behind while Diane was sleeping peacefully.
"Y/n are you nervous at all? I know I certainly am.." Elizabeth muttered and I patted her shoulder with a smile on my face.
"Don't worry Elizabeth! Even if something does happen I have this new power so I'll keep you and Hawk safe." We began shopping for the ingredients Meliodas wanted and put up posters to advertise the Boar Hat.
"Some holy knights are here.." Hawk whispered as knights ran by us asking the people if they've seen me or Elizabeth.
"Let's lay low for a bit then continue our shopping." Elizabeth suggested and I nodded in agreement. It would be bad if we got caught right now..
"Elizabeth is right...follow me." I whispered to them and we soon hid behind a bush. We kept our eyes on the holy knights to make sure they left before we continued shopping.
"You're the girls on the wanted posters right? Giving you guys up I can get a lot of money for books." I immediately turned around to see a green haired boy with golden eyes.
"Are you going to rat us out?!" Hawk shouted but the strange boy shook his head and stayed calm all this time. Just who is he?
"I was kidding about giving you guys up, I can't show my face to the holy knights." He spoke calmly and I tilted my head in confusion. What did he do that was so bad holy knight are after him as well?
"What did you do to get the holy knights after you?" I questioned softly and peeked over the bush to see the holy knights are gone. Finally!
"It's a story for another time." Why is he so calm and composed everytime he speaks? It's like he doesn't have any emotions..
"Weirdo.." Hawk muttered and Elizabeth pouted at him which I thought was pretty funny.
"Hawk!" Elizabeth spoke like a mother would to their child...I miss my family. The holy knights are responsible for their death...but I'm not alone. Meliodas taught me that...
"My name is Alan, and you guys?" Alan questioned with that monotone voice of his.
"I'm Eliza-"
"Elizabeth! You shouldn't tell people your name!"
"R-Right Hawk!"
I burst out laughing that they would give away their names without even realizing it.
"I'm Y/n, it's a pleasure to meet you Alan." I greeted as I shook his hand while smiling. It's nice that I don't have to feel on edge at the moment.
"It's normal to know people's names for conversation after all." Alan told Hawk who huffed in frustration. I guess he felt stupid he gave away Elizabeth's name as she did the same to him.
"Sir Alan earlier you joked about giving us up to the holy knights, you need money?" Elizabeth questioned as Alan nodded with a slight smile. His eyes though...it showed sadness?
"I need glue to fix armor though it's not like it'll work forever. I don't know what to do for someone who is suffering not what face to make..." Alan seemed lost and I decided to give him the little money we had. He's no scammer, I can tell that much...he genuinely needs help.
"Good luck helping your friend Alan!" I smiled happily before waving goodbye to him. It was time to head back to the bar...and do my part in working together with Elizabeth and Hawk!
