Chapter 42: Despair Descends

Y/n's P.O.V
Darkness...that is all I can see. I know for sure I'm not dead but...where am I? This darkness...it's too overwhelming.
"You're his weakness...you pathetic woman." That voice...I know it very well. Why can't I remember?
"Whoever you are...reveal yourself!" I shouted firmly as I tried to stay strong. I can't let this person think I'm scared of him..
"Your fear is clear as day to me~ I know you're trembling with fear." Who ever the voice belonged to wouldn't reveal himself. But why...?
"Even if I'm scared...Meliodas will kick your ass! So will I! We are strong as long as we're together!!" I shouted firmly without hesitation and the voice laughed without a care in the world. Whoever this is...he's strong.
"Meliodas does not have a chance against his own father!" Before I could question him further I was no longer in darkness, I had finally opened my eyes. What I saw....was the sins and Liones knights fighting Hendrickson.
"Y/n you're finally awake!" Elizabeth shouted happily with relief in her eyes. I'm happy I finally woke up but...could the voice really belong to Meliodas' father? Or...was it all just some trick?
"Watch out he's after Y/n!! Don't let him near her!!" I heard Meliodas scream as loud as he could...but I don't want anyone else to die because of me. I'm not worth it...
"Run..." I mutter softly and Elizabeth immediately shook her head. How can I just stand back and do nothing while everyone risks their lives!?
"Y/n-"
"I don't want anyone else to get hurt so just run!!" I begged as I stood up from laying down on the ground and saw Hendrickson summon darkness in the shape of snow. It killed everything it touches...! Even with King and Diane's power...they were no match for Hendrickson.
"Dark Nebula!" This time his attack was coming straight for me...and even with Elizabeth hugging me to try and protect me...I knew we would die.
"Y/n!" At the last second Meliodas stood in front of both of us. He protected us...despite risking his life.
"Meliodas..." I mutter softly as he fell to the ground covered in scratches. I have to heal him fast...
"Y/n...Elizabeth...run away." Meliodas spoke softly as he looked into my eyes. He didn't care about himself...he wanted us both to be safe.
"No Sir Meliodas!"
"I won't leave you!! Neither will Elizabeth!" I shouted firmly as tears began to drip down my cheeks. This can't be the end...
"Well Meliodas...you seem to be a more dangerous man than I gave you credit for. Be swallowed by the darkness and be destroyed!" Hendrickson began to summon that darkness again...'Dark Snow'. He was combing it all into one giant orb...that will kill him!
"Be careful captain! If you let anybody but me take you down I'll murder your ass!!" Ban shouted as I got closer to Meliodas and hugged him close to me. I won't let him die alone...
"If you're gonna kill him...kill me too!" I took the time to start healing Meliodas' wounds but not my own since for some reason...I couldn't. I want to protect everyone...
"Dead End~" Hendrickson smirked as he launched his attack towards our direction.
"You wanna bet!? Never fear Lord Hawk is here!" Hawk stood in front of us...ready to risk his life. No...he can't do that!!
"Hawk no!" I begged but no matter what...Hawk wouldn't look at me. He's afraid to die...
"I'm sorry...but you guys have to live. It's our only chance!" Hawk spoke with such determination and his tone was laced with sadness.
"Get out of the way!!" Meliodas screamed but Hawk wouldn't move. Instead...he smiled for us right as Hendrickson's attack hit him head on.
"How...How'd this...happen?" Elizabeth muttered softly as she to began to cry. I ran over to Hawk's body and held him close to me. He died...for us all.
"I hate you...Hendrickson!" I shouted as light began to envelop my body. It shot up high into the sky...it was a gentle light. Even Elizabeth began to glow as well...she was awakened.
"What a bother...not only Y/n had awakened her powers back then but not princess Elizabeth has as well. Apostle of the goddesses..." For what Hendrickson has done...he will pay. Not only Hawk has suffered because of him...everyone in Liones too.
"Lady Elizabeth and Lady Y/n...they're so powerful I can hardly believe it!" King shouted and even if everyone kept eyeing us...I only looked ahead. Hendrickson needs to know how much pain he's caused everyone...
"I'm so disappointed in what you've become...Hendrickson! My father trusted you because of your kind heart...! Why did you change?!" Elizabeth shouted firmly with such a fierce look in her eyes. We were both done with his actions...
"Hendrickson do you realize how much suffering you caused people?! What did you want so badly that it meant sacrificing yourself?" His emotionless eyes...is he really Hendrickson? Elizabeth said he was a kind person...why change so suddenly?
"The resurrection of the demon race...and to take my revenge on the four clans that sealed us away after the ancient war." My body began to move on it's own before I could even think it through.
"Y/n what are you doing?!" Meliodas shouted firmly but that still didn't stop me from moving closer to him.
"Hendrickson...revenge isn't the answer. If you can't see that...then I have to fight you." I quickly looked over to Elizabeth and gestured for her to get closer. Hendrickson didn't move at all...it's as if he wants us to attack him. As Elizabeth and I grabbed onto each others hands we focused all of our energy onto this one attack.
"Together..."
"We won't let you hurt anyone else!!" Our light grew brighter as it collided onto Hendrickson. He screamed so loud as it left him with burns. Our light didn't just hurt someone...it healed everyone's wounds.
"Stay strong Y/n...the light within you will keep you safe." Zaratras...even in death he still watched over me. A father never stops worrying about his daughter...
"You and Elizabeth can rest easy now...the Seven Deadly Sins are here!!" Meliodas declared firmly with such determination in his eyes. We protect each other...always.
