Chapter 12: Determination

Third Person's P.O.V
Ruin punched Meliodas' face though he had no idea that he let him. A huge dent was made in the ground from the impact of a single punch.
"Meliodas!!" Hawk shouted while he watched helplessly as the holy knight picked Meliodas up with the hand he had used to punch him.
"I can't believe the kingdom felt threatened by this insignificant child~" Ruin spoke with confidence that he 'defeated' the captain of the Seven Deadly Sins. Though his so called victory was cut short when Meliodas opened his eyes then punched Ruin making his body fly into one of the Bastate prison towers.
"Oh no...Ruin!" The woman holy knight shouted as she got ready to run and help him but Diane arrived moments later while cracking her fingers.
"You're the one who helped hurt Y/n? Be prepared for the consequences!" Diane shouted as she grabbed onto the woman holy knight who struggled in Diane's firm grasp.
"We'll watch over Lady Y/n!" Elizabeth shouted as she ran over towards your body that was covered in scratches and blood stained your uniform.
"Y/n..." Hawk muttered softly as tears fell from his eyes. Even if you traveled with them for only a little while he considered you as a precious friend. Meliodas' wrath only grew as he punched Ruin once again breaking part of his armor.
"How could you break my armor with one blow? Well done...is what you expected me to say?! You fool! My flesh is my true armor!!" Ruin shouted as more of his armor broke while his skin was hardening. Meliodas kept a calm expression as he punched Ruin's stomach making tons blood splurt out of his ears.
"I had no choice...cuz you hurt someone who means everything to me. And that...well that sin was yours!" Meliodas shouted firmly while Ruins body fell to the ground. The other holy knights who were watching had started to run away.
"Captain! Y/n isn't doing so good...!" Diane shouted quickly getting Meliodas' attention. He ran over to you since you had woken up moments ago. You couldn't move your body since the pain was unbearable.
"Meliodas..." You managed to speak but it was very low. Meliodas had a calm expression but somehow you knew that he was really worried about you.
"Will Lady Y/n be alright!?" Elizabeth shouted as tear fell from her eyes. She couldn't bare to look at you further and covered her face.
"Of course she will...! Y/n is a tough girl...!!" Hawk tried to stay strong but cried once more and cuddled close to Elizabeth's leg.
"N/n you did great, but you need to take care of yourself too." Meliodas spoke calmly as he gently held onto your hand that was also covered in scratches and blood. You were getting more exhausted but still kept looking into his emerald orbs.
"Captain we need to take her back to town..." Diane muttered softly while her eyes showed you just how worried she was over you.
"Hold on...would you please...I want you...to take me along with you...I wanna be there with...you all..." You spoke weakly as your eyelids became a bit heavy for you.
"You can't! Not like this..." Hawk got closer to you and begged for you to reconsider but your mind was already made up.
"That can't happen now...sorry to say." Diane muttered with such a serious expression, she couldn't bare to see you hurt again.
"Why not Diane...?" Your eyes were filled with sadness despite having Meliodas close to you.
"It's Bastate prison...the enemy is probably ready to attack us. You won't be able to do anything in the shape your in." Diane's words hurt but you knew it was the truth. However your heart told you going with them is the right thing to do.
"I suppose not...I don't have any great power...I can't even hold a sword...I know, but even so...I made up my mind. To at least be there with Meliodas and you all...because I must keep my promise." You spoke firmly while everyone looked shocked by your words except for the dragon sin himself.
"You never change...huh?" Meliodas muttered to himself and you were the only one to hear him.
"Lady Y/n...you're not gonna cry?" Elizabeth asked softly while wiping her tears away so she could stay strong just like you.
"No." You stated with determined eyes and you began to smile. Meliodas chuckled and started carrying you bridal style.
"Let's get to Bastate prison and save both Ban and the doctor's daughter~!" Meliodas smiled cheerfully, it was the smile that made you feel sentimental and compassion in your heart.
"Meliodas..." You muttered right as you fell unconscious. Though you didn't feel afraid, you knew nothing can hurt you if Meliodas was by your side.
