Chapter 1: The Start of the New Beginning

Years ago, after Sakura and Sasuke's marriage - they finally decided to travel together due to Sasuke's unforgotten promise with Sakura before he left for his redemption journey.

During their travels, the couple went to different places for many days, turning to months. They both spent as much time as they could as a newlywed couple but after a few months, they had to go home on a certain day.

It was noticeable that Sakura is going through something, but she never paid much attention to it because she wants to focus more on their time together.

Though as a concerned husband, Sasuke never ignored the changes in Sakura's moods and condition. Whenever he asked her what's wrong, she would doge the question and leave Sasuke dropping it

Lately Sakura has been having morning sickness, which is why Sasuke felt like something was going on, but his wife wouldn't tell him.

Finally, after his concerns piled up - he talked to her about going. Even if Sakura's stubborn remarks didn't linger anymore, she gave in. In the end, they decided to go back home after being together out of the village.

But..

It doesn't go as they planned. Turns out they'll stumble to a stranger and as it seems, the change of path will make them go home sooner than later

Sasuke and Sakura walked together on the path, leading back to home. Since Sakura isn't so used to silence as much as her husband, she talked most of the time with random topics.

Sasuke always listened to her talk and gave her short responses as she continued. Sakura was fine with him being less talkative than her, since his small gestures and short responses of letting her continue to talk when he listened to every word she spoke was something she appreciated.

In the peaceful wind around the forest, looming around Sakura's gentle voice while talking to Sasuke - a person's loud, running footsteps were heard from a distance, coming to their direction.

They stopped from their tracks, as they briefly looked at each other and stood alertedly. Their backs pressed together, getting ready for what's to come.

Sasuke's hand was holding the grip of his sword under his cloak, while his wife, Sakura tightens her gloves as she prepares her fists up.

Seeing nobody, the both of them used their senses. They could feel someone's chakra coming closer.

Sakura looked around the trees, "Who's there!?"

The footsteps stopped near where they were, but loud and tired pants replaced what they heard. A man walked out slowly from the trees' trunks to the heating sun, he was dripping in sweat.

Sakura's eyes stayed furrowed thinking it may be a genjutsu while Sasuke still kept paying attention to what's around them. It may be a trap or trick.

Sakura observed the man before making a move, after a while there was no hint of genjutsu anywhere.

After knowing he wasn't a threat, her suspicious expression retreated to a worried one. Sasuke stands still and looks at his wife who then runs over to the man.

The stranger was now on the ground, deeply breathing. Sakura bent down and helped the man sit up, his back on a tree's trunk.

He lets her help him, he holds Sakura's wrist, "Miss!" He said loudly, still trying to breathe between sentences.

This surprised Sakura and made Sasuke walk fast toward the scene, appearing right beside Sakura.

The man let's go of her, letting Sakura take some packed water from her bag and offer it to him. He nodded, and drank as much as he could.
