Chapter 3: The Unexpected Man

Sakura processed what she's standing in front of. It really is the hideout. "This is.." Sakura was staring at the place and squinting her eyes since it's becoming blurry for a few seconds. "I-It's Orochimaru's hideout." She whispered.

He gave a silent response, a nod of his head. They both slowly went inside while Sasuke gave her a hand to help her guide the way. Sakura shifts uncomfortably, placing all her weight on his by the hand to support herself.

Soon later, Sasuke spotted a red-haired woman's back facing them. Sakura decided to look around and spot something—an item they just passed by seemed to have caught her attention.

Sakura moved closer to the item, making Sasuke let go of her so she could look at it. Sasuke noticed what she was doing and left her what she was doing as he called out for his former teammate that still didn't notice their presence. "Karin."

Karin stood still in her place. She was organizing some of her stuff—ready to depart this hideout, only to be interrupted by a sudden presence and voice that called out for her. She felt the beat of her heart jumping in some certain way and she knew there's only one guy who could do such a thing.

She slowly turned around to face the owner of that voice. There he stood, the one and only man she hadn't seen in a long time. Her feet were close to running up to him with an all known hug she would greet him, but another presence seemed to make her stay on her tracks.

"Sasuke?!" her eyes widened at him as she fixed her glasses to see if her eyes were fooling her. As always he didn't seem to have changed as much. Her thoughts were filled with questions as to why he would be here.

Her shattered dreams felt like it was slowly coming back piece by piece, "I-It's been so long, how have you-" She stopped when she could see a woman's back with short pink hair—holding some herbs in her hands. Her figure came to view right behind Sasuke.

The woman grinned as she lifted the different herbs up to Sasuke, "This is just what I've been looking for!"

Karin found the woman familiar, as her eyes trailed down to see her bump on her stomach. She was pregnant.

Are they together? Is this the woman that everyone had been saying that Sasuke was always with? Is she the reason why her dreams were cracked in pieces a long time ago?

Karin may not know this person, but she already feels a sharp pain through her chest with her assumption that may be right. Even though she was hurting, she didn't feel any ill intention towards the woman.

Before she could wonder why—she stood very still when she looked at Sasuke's softened expression as he looked down at the grinning pregnant woman beside him.

That slight change of expression and reaction he was showing answered all her questions at once. She is who they're talking about.

Ignoring the feeling of that familiar pain she tried to get over, she eyed the familiar woman questioningly. "Who are you?" Karin asked and surprisingly, it didn't sound as if she was seething.

She stared at the pink-haired woman walking up to her. She took out a free hand, asking for a shake in greeting, "Nice to meet you, Karin." She smiled. Genuinely.

"We've actually met before, but my name is Sakura. Sakura Ha-, I-I mean Sakura Uchiha." Sakura sweatdropped at the slight slip since she didn't introduce herself a lot since her crest on her attire does it for her.

Even though Karin already knew this information, she would've never thought of him committing such a huge thing. Marriage. With a woman. Her jaw almost dropped, "Y-You're Sasuke's w-wife?" Karin couldn't hide her surprise.
