Chapter 24: Back to the Past

Kabuto panicked, "Are you ok? Hey, you can't be talking right now!"

Sakura was surprised to hear one of Shin's children start talking like this. The last time she remembered them saying anything was when she first met them with their father.

She looks at the kid, confused. Jizo's hand didn't feel cold like before. The warmth of the child's body makes him seem more human-like.

Sakura had that pinned in her head and was surprised to see the next thing when she looked at his face.

His eyes.

It's not red, the sharingan.

More so, like it's normal. Black orbs staring at her.

"I.. have something.." He coughed, stopping him from continuing. Kabuto rushed to give him water.

Sakura sat back down properly, looked him up. She was still stunned to see his black eyes. "Where's his sharingan?"

Kabuto sighed, "Like I said, I had tried to bring their eyes to normal. Many children feared their eyes and I don't know how this happened to their eyes, but it seems like it worked."

She nodded, she remembered how Sarada woke up with her eyes back to normal. She thought it was a hallucination that's a glimpse of red.

It may have been true..

Before she could think further than that, Shin had interrupted her thoughts. "I'm sorry."

Sakura looks up at Jizo, she notices how different they look like now. The clones don't look as identical as before. "Sorry?" She questioned.

"For the trouble. I'm sorry.."

"..Mrs. Uchiha Jizo." Kabuto reminded him.

"Mrs. Uchiha." He repeated.

I guess Kabuto is doing well in teaching manners to these children. Sakura nodded, "What is it you want to tell me?"

Jizo looks up and even without having to change his expression, Sakura could tell he's feeling guilty. She thought he was still bothered by the fact he may have troubled her.

"I'm terribly sorry." He says again.

Kabuto scrunched his eyebrows, "What's the matter?"

Jizo turns to Kabuto, looking at him for a while like he's saying something without actually having to spit a word.

He scans Jizo's face. Finally, he nods. Kabuto stood up, "Excuse me, Mrs. Uchiha. I'll leave you two."

Sakura was now confused again, but she let him go as she's left with a few people in the room. Though, the conversation she'll soon have will be left unnoticed.

"Did something happen, Jizo?" She asked, feeling worried that he may be feeling worse. Then again, he is the first to wake up.

Jizo blinked, and shook his head. "I'm well, but I have been meaning to tell you something." He says, sounding quite nervous.

Sakura nodded, shifting her position, "What is it?"

Jizo looks directly into Sakura's eyes, and this is when she realizes whatever he is about to say is something is going to be serious. "Your child." He mutters.

Sakura blinked and smiled, brightening up as she thought of her adorable and hard working daughter. "Sarada? Do you know-"

"No." Jizo says suddenly. "Your son."
