Chapter 11: Their History
On the table seated was the ruler of the Village on the main seat. Ena's grandfather, Matsu's expression looked serious and stern. Same as his son, Aki who sits beside him. Across Aki's seat will be Ena's but she hasn't arrived yet.
It was an unusual thing since Ena was always early when there's meetings. Especially an important one. Everybody was already seated in their assigned seats of the long rectangular table. Filled were the respected group of protection for the villages, and the group of experts in providing for the village, called the Elites.
The Protection Group stays in the village and makes sure everyone is safe. If someone were to do something wrong, they would deal with it. The Elite Group hunts, and makes sure everybody has supplies for their everyday needs.
Both groups are led by one leader, Noriko. He is believed to be the best student of Matsu and the most trusted person. He helps the village balance. A little history was that Matsu found him as a child when his parents died in the recent great war years ago.
Nokiro sat across the Ruler, Matsu. So, at the end of the table were the two important people of the village.
The door was swung open by Ena, "I'm sorry I'm late." She said, taking her seat as stares landed on her.
"Why were you?" Aki asked.
"Sachi. Just a little problem I had to deal with. We can continue." She said, remembering how Sachi was left by a babysitter and was whining. He didn't want to be left by someone different, but after tries of Ena making him sleep - he finally stopped and she ran to the meeting.
Her grandfather cleared his throat, making everyone sit straight and pay attention. "Speaking of Sachi..."
His words made everyone confused as to who this person may be. However, they didn't whisper, confused stares were already understood by the Ruler.
"Ena found a young newborn in the forest, and had the eyes of an Uchiha."
"The sharingan?" Noriko said, surprised. "A newborn with such eyes. Isn't that impossible?"
Aki turned to him, "Our reaction was the same, but Ena here-" He gestured to Ena across him, who looked confident with whatever she saw, "-picked up the child to see red eyes with a tomoe."
Ena cut in with a clearing of her throat, "Yes. I'm not mistaken. You all know my sharp eyes, and they never fail me."
Everyone nodded their heads and some deep in thought. They knew she was right. Whenever there was a slow movement of the field when she would climb a tree - she could tell where to point the direction, and everyone approved of her talent.
"So the kid must be an Uchiha.." Riyu interrupted, rubbing his chin. "The only Uchiha left is Sasuke Uchiha from Konoha."
"That's right." Aki said. Matsu and Ena nodded.
"The child was left alone in the middle of the forest. Do you guys know why?" Nokiro asked, looking at the Matsu.
He shook his head as a response, "No, we don't. Though due to Uchihas' background, it's not a surprise to leave their own child in the forest."
Everyone in the table knew how the Uchiha Clan was slaughtered, and how Sasuke killed his own brother and thought of betrayal to Konoha.
Someone at the table raised a hand, "Didn't Sasuke pay for his sins years ago?" He said, "The Uchiha did help save the Shinobi world as well."
There were some who nodded at this, agreeing to this person. "What do you think about his child being left in the woods?" Someone else asked.
"The previous person shrugged, "I don't know. It's a mystery really. Since we don't know, are we giving the child back then?"
