Chapter 30: Who You Are
Sarada's eyes were blurry. Not because of her tears but she was still holding her glasses. Even still, one of her orbs made her see clearer at the standing figure in front of her that looked like a reflection of herself yet with small different features.
Everything was going so slow and the wind hands caught the boy's hood, revealing a rare pink rooted with strands hidden in the dark hair colour that Sarada has.
His expression is still shocked but their puzzling stare down had to be interrupted by a sudden strong wind that picked up, making the leaves fly.
This made Sarada's hand raise to cover her face and from the strong gust of dust that would come along. After it subsided, she stared at the spot where she expected the boy stood still too, but he was gone.
She looked frantically nearby, but there was no trace of the unknown yet familiar boy she just saw. As she thought more, a struck of pain hit inside her head.
Sarada rubbed her temples and remembering where she wanted to go after running away, she put on her glasses and brought this scenario through a soon conversation she'll have with her friend. She walked away with her questioning thoughts but it only makes her head hurt so she let it be for now.
Sarada arrived in the food store her friend is waiting in. Cho chi spotted Sarada with her troublesome expression. Knowing she's distracted, she waved her arm and called out her name, "Sarada, over here!"
This got her attention and lifted up her head to wave back at her closest friend. She arrived at the place and sat on the empty seat that was expecting her, "Are you ok!?" Cho Chi asked worriedly as she stared at her friend's puffy eyes and messy hairdo.
Sarada only sighed and closed her eyes only for it to open again with sadness, "I just.. I just want Papa to come back home.."
"Uh oh," Cho-Cho mumbled, "What did he do this time? Is your Mom having nightmares again?" She asked, feeling concerned. Despite Sarada not being so open about her life, she tends to let Cho-Cho know more about Sarada's life.
Sarada shakes her head, but stopped when she realized her Mom also had to do with something. It's almost afternoon and her day has been draining. "I.. I guess my Mom.. No." She sighed frustrated, "I just heard some rumours and a part of me is silently believing them."
Cho-Cho stopped eating her chips and furrowed her eyebrows, "What were they about?" This is not the first time Sarada has been bothered by rumours, knowing she's lived with them ever since she was born. Her unusual birth place, her background, and her criminal father that everyone says.
It was a long time ago since Sarada really paid attention to them, Cho-Cho was the only one who never judged her based on those rumours and helped her get through it.
Looking at Sarada's hesitant look, Cho-Cho encouraged her, "Sarada, you know you can tell me."
At this Sarada nodded, "My Mom.. Is uhm.." This is not how usually she would act, hesitant, shy, awkward, but she isn't surprised to see Sarada like this. Cho-Cho smiled, she knows where this is going. Even if she was focused on her chips, she tends to listen to the rumours as long as the Uchiha's name lingered in them.
"They're saying your Mom is cheating, right?" At this, Sarada widened her eyes at her sudden words.
"You knew?"
Cho-Cho shrugged, "I've heard some of these annoying women gossiping about that pointless stuff, but you can't possibly believe them..' She said, waiting for her reason as to why she would listen to these women.
