Ryan fluttered his eyes open. He realized that he was in his apartment. He remembered where he was and looked behind him. There was no one in the bed with him. Ryan frowned as he remembered Shane wrapping his arms around his waist last night, trying to fall asleep. Ryan smiled to himself.
He got up and did his daily morning routine. He got up, ate, showered, got dressed then brushed his teeth. He sat down on the couch when he was finished. He then turned the T.V. on. The doorbell rang. Ryan groaned, got up, and went to the door. He opened it and smiled.
"Hey," Shane said. Ryan chuckled. "Miss me already?" Shane asked. Ryan threw his arms around Shane and Shane returned the hug.
"You know I miss you all the time," Ryan said, backing up and looking in Shane's eyes. Shane smiled and his eyes lit up. Shane's arms were still wrapped around Ryan's waist. Ryan's arms were wrapped around Shane's neck.
"That's sweet," Shane said as he pecked a kiss on Ryan's lips. They backed up and Ryan guided Shane into his home. Ryan shut the door and looked at Shane. Shane wrapped his demonic tail around Ryan and pulled Ryan towards him. Ryan gasped silently and then smiled when his chest was pressed against Shane's. Shane kissed Ryan again. Ryan smiled and kissed him back. They backed up.
"Shane," Ryan says, serious.
"What?" Shane asks, kinda scared.
"If I date you, I want to know you. I don't mean your favorite color, food, or your middle name. I want to know those too, but I mean, tell me about the time you broke your arm trying to ride a bike for the first time. Tell me the nightmares you've had or the struggles you've dealt with, if you ever feel alone. Tell me if there's a voice in your head that tells you "you're not good enough". Tell me your secrets, your thoughts, about your childhood, or how you got that scar on your knee. Tell me about your first love and heartbreak. I want to know everything and I won't settle for less. Because if I date you, I want it to last. If I date you, I'm dating you for a reason." Ryan had a serious tone to his voice. Shane smirked. He knew he was going to keep this promise.
"Okay," Shane says. "But, same for me! I want your top priority to be you. You're goals, you're life. I'll work on me, as long as you work on you." Shane smiles. Ryan does too. They kiss softly again and hug.
