Radio Rental Story Picture has nothing to do with the story. Just enjoy it.
Ryan was over at Shane's house one night. He had gotten there around 6 or 7 o'clock. Shane had made some popcorn and they started to watch a movie. They're watching a movie that Ryan had brought.
They were actually enjoying the movie, until, faster than an actual blink, Shane found himself on the foot of his bed. This wasn't were he was a couple seconds ago. He was on the living room couch. Shane was wearing nothing but his underwear. It made him a little uncomfortable, and the lights were off.
Shane didn't feel sleepy or anything, it was just so sudden. Immediately after the jump, he was immensely confused. He felt completely betrayed by all reality he's ever known. He spent a good second or two, trying to catch his breath. Shane was panicked.
Am I hurt!? Am I okay? Shane's first thought was. He found that he was okay. He's not bleeding anywhere. Although, that took a couple seconds to figure out. It took Shane a couple seconds too, to realize he was in his room. He had to look around and see: Wow. I'm in my room. Shane thought maybe he died or something.
He realized that Ryan was sitting right next to him, also wearing nothing but his underwear. He looks like he saw a ghost. That face that Shane always teased Ryan for making, he had on, and had a very good reason.
Shane tried to speak first, but he choked. Like, there was something caught in his throat. Ryan was still. His eyes were pasted open. It was a really eerie look. Wide eyes, pale as can be, mouth agape, like he had just seen someone pop out from the grave. Ryan was trembling. He was trembling, like that one shake you get when you miss a near car crash. His whole body is clenched, but he's shaking a little bit. He had shallow breaths. I guess you could call it: Shock?
"What the hell happened?" Ryan asked, not turning to face Shane. It was the fist thing anyone had said. This made Shane more afraid, because he hoped that Ryan had answers, but...how could he? He's human. Shane's a demon, sure, but this is something he's never done before. It couldn't have been Alice, either, because she can't remove clothes while she's teleporting.
Shane didn't think it was Ryan who was going to say anything. He thought it was going to be him that had to say: Hey, this just happened. And that he was going to have to sound nuts.
"I don't know." Shane replied. "Did you turn off all the lights? Did you say you wanted to go to bed?" He asked. Turning to face Ryan. They were looking at each other now, but not moving at all. They were both too scared and freighted to move.
"No." Ryan replied.
"Oh. Okay...well..." Shane paused. He thought maybe something had hit his head and he was knocked out. He was trying to rationalize it. From what Shane could tell, Ryan experienced the same thing he did. This wasn't a joke. Ryan didn't see anything that Shane hadn't seen, and vice versa. It was like his life was a movie right now. The jump was like it belonged to a movie. The camera would take turns switching from Shane to Ryan, Shane to Ryan, as they were speaking. It was just a very sudden switch. Lights hadn't been slowly dimmed or anything like that. Just a regular switch. That's exactly how fast and unexpected it was. It came out of nowhere.
Couple days pass and no one but those two know about it. They decided not to talk about anything that's been happening to them together, recently, and let it go. There probably is some reasonable explanation, they just haven't found it yet. They don't feel like telling anyone and they don't want to talk about it to each other. Maybe to their pets, but no one else.
"These experiences we are having," Shane tells Ryan. "They're getting out of hand. We need to find a way for these to stop. Pretty soon, these are gonna have some major damage to the way both of us function everyday."
"You're not saying that out sanity could be in danger if things like that keep happening, right?" Ryan asks.
"I'm very much saying that, yes. It could." Shane responds after a couple seconds of thinking.
