Waiting for the Sun

That night, Harri decided it was time to tell Matt the truth. She felt it was unfair to keep secrets from him, especially with the vampires in town. She knew she would be breaking the Statute of Magic, but she had no one else to confide in, and someone needed to know in case anything happened to the Potter line. The only thing she wouldn't reveal was her identity as the Mistress of Death; that was a burden Matt didn't need to bear.

For dinner, Harri prepared Matt's favorite meal: spaghetti and garlic bread, with a special treat of Butterbeer, despite him being underage. When Matt arrived home, the delicious aroma greeted him, and he joined Harri in the kitchen, sitting down at the table. Harri brought over the drinks and sat with him. As Matt served himself, she began.

"Matt, we need to talk about something important. You need to know who I really am."

Harri then explained her true identity, her family, magic, and how she ended up there. She revealed that those she thought were friends had been paid to befriend her and that she was the one funding it. She also shared the pain of being labeled a murderer after defeating Tom Riddle, also known as Lord Voldemort.

As she spoke, Hedwig flew in with a letter. Matt, curious about the owl, asked for an introduction. Harri obliged while opening the letter.

"Dear Harri,

I know you receive letters from the twins, and I had to ask them to get this sent to you. It's utmost urgent. Harri, I am dying, and Teddy needs his godmother. I know you would love to have him but if you don't, he will go to the Weasleys. Though some Weasleys will look after him, the others may not.

I beg of you, Harri, to take him as your own and adopt him and protect him always. I know you are the best person for him, you can help him with his skills and most importantly love him. I am leaving all the accounts to you as you are Lady of House Potter and Black. But what you don't know is that my husband is from a different family tree called the Salvatore. So, you will be also known as Lady Salvatore. You may need to find any descendants as I think they are in America. They would get a letter through the muggle way- mail to say that there is a lady of that house.

If you decide to keep Teddy, please say Theodore Lupin is part of the Potter, Black, and Salvatore tree." He should pop up where you are. Remember you have 1 hour and if 1 hour goes by and you don't want him, he will go to the Weasleys.

Without hesitation, Harri repeated the sentence to summon Teddy, and he appeared on her lap. She looked at Matt and asked how he would feel about being a big brother to Teddy. Both Matt and Teddy smiled, and Teddy's eyes and hair changed to match Harri's.

Matt was amazed at how effortlessly Harri handled everything, despite her difficult past. He vowed to protect Teddy as a brother should, filling the void left by Viki's absence with baby Teddy.

Harri told Matt that he would be shopping for toys and a crib for Teddy the next day while she went for clothes and other essentials.

As they parted ways, Harri took Teddy to bed with her, preparing for the night. Teddy was like a little sun to her, fearless and full of love.

Unbeknownst to her, a crow perched on her balcony, waiting for something—or someone.
