31. Preparation

"No way... all that happened in the span of 3 months?" Kiara asked. 

"Yea."

"God I would love to meet Len! He seems so adorable!!" 

"Yeah I would've thought you guys would make a cute couple." I laughed. 

Kiara has a very bright spirit, while Len has a cute and bubbly personality. I just know they'll both match each other well. 

"Yea well this isn't about me! Wow I can't believe you went through all that! Sooooo my brother confessed heyy???" Kiara smirked at me. 

I blushed almost immediately and tried denying it as much as possible. Kiara, of course, caught on and she started teasing me. 

"Just say you like him too already!!! The suspense is killing meeee!!!" She whined. 

"Ah well..."

"You like him too, right?"

At this point, I really don't know how to answer her. If you asked me the first day Brian and I met, which was an assassination attempt, I would have laughed at your face so hard and say you're crazy. But now....I really have to take that back, and say "I'm the crazy one now!" 

To be honest, I believe my heart knows the answer I'm seeking. But stubborn brain refuses to admit it. 

I have been stuck in the past for too long. I wonder...can I finally leave it behind?

"Oh! Speaking of which, there's a school festival coming up."

"Festival?"

"Yeah! I guess it's to celebrate Clear Waters College's 20th year."

"Damn, 20 years?"

"Yea! You can volunteer to help out, but vendors will be coming in to do the work. I probably will be helping out."

"Well, then I guess I won't be attending."

"Awww why not?"

"I don't wanna go alone Kiara." I stated the obvious.

"Hmmm, why not ask Brian to go with you?"

"W-what?" I stuttered.

"C'monnn, it's the perfect opportunity to spend more time with him. Plus going out with the most popular guy in school? You scored the jackpot gurl!!" She grinned.

"Jeez I don't care about status.." I rolled my eyes.

"Plus it'll be weird to ask him.." I added on afterwards.

"Oh? And if he asks you? Then will you say yes?" She gave her devil smile.

"I guess. I rather not stay at the dorm while everyone's having fun." I shrugged.

"Heh, your words Carmen, not.mine." 

I looked at her and suddenly shivered. 

"What are you planning Kiara." I recognised that smile anywhere. 

"Nothing." She winked. 

I've got a bad feeling about this. A really bad feeling....

"So um..I was wondering if you wanna go to that festival with me.." He tried to look away, while catching glances at me to look at my reaction. His face was blushing bright red and he tried to act cool, despite the desperateness of my answer.
