Brian's POV

That incident left me confused. Yes I like her, but does her presence impact me that greatly? She could even stop my bloodlust..

"Garcia?" I heard someone calling me.

I faced the voice and realised I was spacing out in front of Carmen.

"Y-Yes?"

"Nothing. You were just spacing out for a while." She said as she continued to munch on her sandwich.

"O-Oh sorry about that."

"No worries."

We kept quiet for a while, and I caught myself staring at her. The way she chews her food making her cheeks slightly pinkish is just so adorable. Every bit she took caused little bread crumbs to lie around her little mouth.

Subconsciously, I reached forward and brushed them away. She must have been caught by surprise as she slapped my hand away in a panic.

"You had crumbs on your mouth." I tried to explain.

"O-Oh...uh thanks. Sorry for slapping your away away."

"Yea that's fine."

I guess I don't think I need to think so hard about why she was able to overtake my bloodlust. She's my weakness now, my one and only weakness.

Carmen's POV

As I was just eating my sandwich while thinking about what happened just now (Brian's confession), a soft and tender hand suddenly touched my mouth.

In shock, I slapped it away only to realise it was Brian's.

"You had crumbs on your mouth." He said hesitantly.

"O-Oh...uh thanks. Sorry for slapping your away away." I looked away, embarrassed.

"Yea that's fine."

"Say, why do you think the government cut our 4 months training?" I tried to change the subject.

"I think it's a precaution."

"Precaution?"

"Yes, think about it. The government wants me to join them. But they're unable to because of my conditions for them. And since war is approaching Mexico, and I will not be able to step foot in here in a years' time, I will be Mexico's enemy soon. So-"

"So they're preventing you from interfering with the Army even more, in fear the Army will stand by your side and rebel against the government."

"Yes. They know that I have the power to lead an army. But because the Army is weak, they have no choice but to let me in their territory. However they must have connections stating the war is coming soon, hence they want to chase me out quickly. I bet they'll extend my sentence to keep me here for a little while, at least till the war is over. But..."

"You'll still leave..because you have a mission." I finished his sentence in a quiet tone.

"I'm sorry."

"You have nothing to be sorry about. It's your own revenge."

"He's still your uncle."

"He means nothing to me. The only reason I obey him is because he helped me bail out of prison for my father's death."

"Your father?"

"Don't act oblivious Garcia. I know you did a background check on me."

"Ah I've been caught."
