Chapter 6

about fifteen minutes into our conversation Maddox turned to me and asked 'amity umm wanted to know if she could come up here so that we could talk about the project. should i say yes? ' I had to remind myself who amity was for a moment before remembering she was also in my group, i gave a nod and a small 'yeah' I was rather disappointed that our time alone would be interrupted but i also didn't want to seem weird for denying it. We had plenty of time to talk to each other .

Not too long after that a relatively short girl with pin straight blonde and blue hair poked her head into the room. she had sea-green eyes and was rather pale, join the club, she had on a denim jacket and a cropped jumper and a tartan skirt. 'hi maddox! hi chester! my name is amity lootice , nice to meet you!' i gave a small wave and maddox gave a small 'hey' it was a bit awkward whilst she sat down and turned to us.

 maddox was eating his lunch still, but he swallowed that mouthful and said 'okay so the project...' which gave us all the realization that we actually had to write and create something. I was tapping my fingers against my leg in thought, I wasn't sure what we were going to do. After all we have different interests and things that we wish to avoid.

'oh yeah ! umm about that I think that we should do something on time but then maybe that could be difficult but then i'm sure with the three of us- ' oh my goodness i was struggling to keep up with Amity, I had experienced all types of people in my years but this is impressive. 

'hold on a sec, let's breathe ' said maddox , struggling to keep up with the fast pace . He popped another bit of food into his mouth and closed his eyes before taking a breath, swallowing the food and smiling.  I thought that his smile was pretty cute, it was a small smile but a peaceful one. 

'oh sorry, i'm just a bit nervous, i don't like presentations' amity apologised which led to me nodding in her direction and maddox chuckled and grinned at her 'yeah who does? I see what you mean though, best we do something that we are all confident in ....which narrows it down considerably' he mumbled the last part but i heard it and gave a quick grin . amity didn't seem to hear it though as she made no inclination or response to it . 'so is there anything that we don't want to do?' asked amity i gave a shake of my head whilst maddox immediately answered with 'phonetics...anything but phonetics' but this time I gave an audible hearty laugh . I was expecting that but i didn't expect it to be as funny as it was. and apparently amity thought so too as she laughed along with me. much to Maddox's embarrassment. 'okay okay, i get it you're laughing at my misery , but we don't have much time left luke will be here soon...hopefully, so why don't we just make a messenger group and then make lists of interesting ideas?'

Amity had left not long after that and we were waiting for luke to return. I was looking at some notes whilst Maddox talked to me, Hopefully I didn't seem too rude but I didn't want him to think that he had all my attention...even though he did. 'great.' I heard him mumble and I looked up to see him on his phone .

' is everything okay?' I asked rhetorically, of course he wasn't but that's what you say isn't it? even if you know that someone isn't okay you need to ask them that, then they could lie and say yes and therefore the conversation gets dropped. 'no not really, seems like Luke's gonna be late ...dunno what's happened...' I gave a sigh before looking at the clock. 'hey it's okay , I'll walk you to class...we do have the same destination after all..' i trailed off as though it was the most obvious thing in the world, which it was but I hoped that gave Maddox the idea that he wasn't bothering me. 'really?!' he asked me excitedly which led to me furrowing my eyebrows, was he not used to people in the same class as him walking with him? 'obviously, we have managed to be with eachother for nearly an hour, nothing bad happened so I doubt that walking to our class would put you in mortal danger.' Maddox gave a hearty laugh and said with a grin 'hey dont' jinx it!' which put a soft smile on my face as I shook my head and stood up. I went and got Maddox's cane for him and picked his bag up. '...you know i can carry that right?' maddox asked me ,I could hear his sadness in his tone, he wasn't used to people doing stuff for him...or I could be completely wrong and he wants to carry it and show some independence . 'Yeah I know you can.' I simply replied in hopes that it would make him feel a bit better and make it clear that he wasn't getting his bag until we got to class.

Our next class went by quickly as well, we had sat next to eachother again . Maddox kept a seat empty for luke but he didn't turn up. I saw Maddox's phone light up half way through and as he read it his shoulder's sagged . He reached into his bag and pulled out a smaller pouch and he took something out. It was a black stone which i recognised as tourmaline . something negative must have happened. Crystals was one fo my hobbies at one point and you don't usually forget things you've spend years looking into and practicing. I also saw a necklace with a cross on it inside his pouch which lead to more questions , I liked getting to know maddox.

When that class was over maddox had told me that luke got sick and had to leave early. I shook my head and frowned but I took maddox to where he gets picked up. I had heard of the 'freshers flu' but i didn't think it was that serious or effective . I visited the library once Maddox was picked up and sat at a computer . I wasn't really doing much , I was tempted to pick my book up and start to read again.

The plot was very enticing and yet not at all. It wasn't a very ...detailed book but it had a lot of metaphors and short poems in so that it seemed rather full. I decided not too and drew my attention to the computer. Though I did decide to look up this strange book.

Nothing, there was nothing about this book on the internet, Honestly I was looking for the retail value of it considering I was given it for free . I had known Jessica and Thomas for quite some time now ,luckily for me neither of them had the greatest eyesight when it comes to people's faces so they didn't know that i had stayed the same age the entire time that I have known them. I knew that the book was shrouded in mystery . I wasn't daft enough to think that the name A.N.Onymous actually exists...but if it did that would be really smart parents and i would love to get to know them...I had decided that it was enough for the day and decided to head home, I liked to stay out for as long as possible because my home was very lonely and the less time i need to spend in there the better.
