chapter 41

I wanted to jump out of the window, not only did Maddox have an aim to ignore and hurt my feelings by being on Amity's side but apparently Alaric aimed to flirt like there was no tomorrow with Amity. I'm not exaggerating , I swear I was at the verge of ripping my ear out with annoyance. I couldn't have been happier when we were in our next class.

The class came and went peacefully, it was a seminar of course it would go by quick and peaceful ...I'm lying . Seminars mean that we need to talk to each other, and once again it is unfortunate that Amity, Maddox, Luke and I were all sat at the same table. Though this was non-negotiable because we were in a very tiny room. One would not consider this to be a university classroom. The room that has been titled 'Maddox and chesters' room' is bigger ten this by a long shot and hardly gets used, I was slightly tempted to ask if we could go somewhere else or to that specific room. The less people that know about the room the better, wow that sounded very selfish of me.

The room that we were currently in was about six metres by four. There were two big and round tables , the class had around ten students in , though they were never guaranteed to be here all a once. The desks were round, with a light wood surface and four unstable metal legs . The chairs were uncomfortable and in a shade of navy blue, the cushion that was supposed to make the seat comfortable were almost non-existent. The walls were a light cream colour which made the room look very boring, it was so light the whiteboard almost blended perfectly. The walls were in vast contrast to the dark gray carpet that had some steins that I'd rather not think about. The projector was broken since the colours were constantly stuck in shades of yellow and blue.

We were all sat around the table with paper in front of us, questions were on the board but none of us were focusing on that. Luke and Amity were flirting up a storm, which isn't really surprising considering Alaric has a crush on Amity but that left me and Maddox to be alone . I wasn't sure how much longer I could put up this act of fighting.

"so..." I started aiming my voice towards Maddox, he raised an eyebrow at me but otherwise ignored my existence as he seemed keen on doing today. "sewing is something that you do with a needle and some fabric usually to make clothes, decorations or toys. I'm not sure if sewing is relevant at the moment" Maddox replied with a smirk in a snarky manner after a while. His response would have made me chuckle if it wasn't directed at me.

"Maddox I can't do this anymore, please forgive me." I practically begged, whilst keeping an eye on the lovebirds to my right, they were giggling and chuckling away. Maddox didn't get much tie to reply to me though as when I looked away for one moment Amity was staring right at me. I cleared my throat and asked politely "Amity can I do something for you?"

She gave me a somewhat strained yet polite smile and replied "I was wondering if you and Maddox would be up for studying tomorrow? or the day after? sometime this week?" Her smile was hopeful but her eyes were saying 'if you don't accept this I will kill you in your sleep'. I sighed in defeat before looking to Maddox who shrugged and nodded, placing his arm on the back of the chair so that he was facing Amity.

"I don't see a reason why not, perhaps tomorrow so we an actually get people involved sooner rather then later?" I asked as professionally as I could whilst watching luke make strange faces behind her back , I had hoped that I was being successful. Maddox wasn't paying much attention to it as his eyes were locked on the papers infront of him and the laptop screen which held the questions.

"That's good, Luke is free tomorrow too, you know to read the texts?" Maddox's head shot up at that and he bit his lip with worry "Um but I need to give twenty-four-" Maddox had started to explain something when he was interrupted by Luke putting his hand up with a small smile "Don't worry Maddox, there's really no need for me to get payed for tomorrow's session, it won't take too long...besides I enjoy Amity's company." Luke said almost awestruck . I wanted to grab him by the shoulders and shake him very violently. Though I wasn't oblivious, I know that I have the same look whenever I look at Maddox .

I gave a little huff before going back to study Maddox. He didn't seem as happy as he usually is, though he's been using a lot more snide comments and presenting a much more snarky attitude I could tell that he wasn't the happiest. I grabbed my phone from my pocked and opened messenger.

Are you okay?-C

I saw his eyebrows furrow when he looked at his screen and then back to me , a small frown appeared on his face as he sent me back ;

We're not supposed to be talking chester! especially not where Amity can plainly see us! -M

though since you asked...I miss you-M

My heart gave a small flutter, he was beign very strong and considerate considering I was the one who dragged hi into this.

I know but it's not the same, I want to hold your hand, I want to laugh with you I wanna-M

I saw him continue to type a little bit more before deleting the words that he had wrote. I'm a bit disappointed that I was watching his hands and his facial expression instead of the screen. However watching his face turn red made me wonder what he was about to type.

Well in that case....I miss you too-C

this should all be over soon-C

there was a few moments of silence between ss whilst Maddox placed a hand on his heart for a moment before getting a small smile and starting to reply

Luke's laying it on a bit thick ain't he?- M

his comment caused me to laugh, it wouldn't be out of place for that to be mentioned in general conversation I suppose. It may be because he is attempting to hide the previous statements in our messages but I thought the change of topic was rather cute

yes he ism I don't blame him though, the person who he loves is right in front of him and yet a curse is stopping them from being together happily-C

He turned to me slightly . I'm assuming that I was either really creepy or really romantic as We locked eyes, I couldn't tell if he knew I was staring at him from his reaction but he quickly looked away .

Not that i'd know ANYTHINg about that-C

oh yes you are clueless in that aspect of life, but however the world is going to end!-M

the great chester Allerton is using capitals?! and not at thebeginning of a sentence?-M

oh well I suppose his snarky attitude isn't always because we are fighting, I hmph'd and gave him a funny look. Though if anything were to come afterwards it was cut short by none other then Dave telling is to get out. Yes that is basically what he said. He doesn't want to be here as much as we didn't want to be here.

It felt odd not walking Maddox to where he gets picked up but I left him in Luke's capable hands, I wasn't leaving Amity and Alaric with Maddox for a moment though, We had said our farewells to Amity nearly as soon as we exited the classroom. Which I really appreciated . Before we parted ways I held my phone up to Maddox, indicating i'd get in touch with him , I hope that tomorrow goes well and that Alaric knows what he's doing.
