After a little bit of fun and games it was time to get back to seriousness again. We didn't have much of a 'first sleepover sleepover' but nevertheless it was a fun evening, even funner morning and we were off to Dave and Emily's house. It was raining of course which was typical for England so it heavily surprised me to see Dave in the garden, soaked to the bone , doing gardening.

"Hello kids! here to see Emily again? She's in her broom clo-I mean her witchy room..." he cleared his throat awkwardly whilst rubbing his hands on his jeans, which made me die a little on the inside. " umm...don't tell her i said that! I'm glad to see you didn't kill each other in your sleep last night anyway." He stood awkwardly for a moment ...we all stood awkwardly until Maddox , wearing his jeans and one of my hoodies -which honestly nearly reached his knees- said "Hi Dave! Bye Dave!" before starting to pull on my arm towards the house.

I saw Amity and Alaric gave Dave a wave and a nod respectively before heading in after us. Maddox was way too excited to see the room again, honestly it was like watching a child in a sweet shop. Maddox lead the way into the room, well into the house. When we got to the door to the witchy room as we have all learnt to call it, Maddox paused before poking his head in, after knocking of course. I couldn't see what was happening in the room but I heard a loud

"Maddox ! come in ,come in! " Emily's voice rang out. In response Maddox pushed the door open carefully and slowly. He had a wide smile on his face as he looked at the table where Emily sat. In front of her was a bowl with many things in. Maddox being the nosy person that he is looked very closely to the bowl, I would have scolded him but the happiness in his eyes once he saw what was in there was enough to make me stop.

"Is that an abundance spell?!" He squealed excitedly whilst his wrist bounced slightly, no i wasn't looking carefully at his hands...his cane was hitting the floor very rapidly. I reached over and silently rested my hand around his arm, with a smile of course . This lack of sleep was getting to me and honestly if someone says the wrong thing i feel like i could bite their head off...but of course I won't , unless it's Amity then i'm not afraid to slap -no i won't ...I'm tempting myself

"Ah Maddox, at least someone knows what they're talking about! I can have sensible conversations without someone asking me how to jinx people with my magic wand... " I could sense a bit of annoyance in her tone . I was around when witches were burnt at the stake, I wasn't the most welcoming to them after all of my experiences but i'm starting to like Emily , especially since i can now link her to all the stories Dave told us.

"Good morning Emily." I greeted as I entered , Amity gave a "Hi!" and Alaric gave another nod, even though his 'stereotypical strong but silent' guy act had been completely tarnished the day before, he still seemed to like the persona. "Now, i'm going to finish with this and then we can discuss further plans, you can stay in here or leave if you want..." Amity and Alaric had a small staring contest, After knowing them for approximately a few weeks I am assuming Amity wanted to stay and learn whilst Alaric was still somewhat uncomfortable around the magic.

I sighed before giving Maddox a kiss on the temple and squeezing his hand "Come on Alaric , lets leave them to it." I started to head towards the door but stopped and stared at Amity with the most intimidating look i could muster up "If you touch or harm Maddox in any way I am not afraid to find some way to kill you." My poor mood seemed to shine through my tone or facial expression as she shrunk back a little bit and nodded, I wonder why i hadn't done that earlier , could have saved a lot of stress.

I started to exit the room whilst i heard her mutter a "yes sir.." I could tell that Alaric was following me with a satisfied smirk on his face. We didn't really want to go outside and into the pouring rain so we decided to just sit in the living room.

I had enough....the silence was honestly killing me, i could hear the tick of the hand of the clock going in it's regular motion. I could hear the small chirping of distant birds trying to find shelter from the rain, i could hear muffled voices coming from the room behind the door. I could hear the really good singing of Dave whilst he was working, though it was choppy as he worked and muffled from the glass of the window.

"you know honestly i wish that you'd scared her like that earlier then today..." Alaric said as he trailed off with another small chuckle. I had noticed that we were an awkward bunch and i hoped that we would get used to each other more, there would be less trailing off. "yes I also wish that, it felt good . I needed to let off a little bit of tension." Alaric gave me a pat on the shoulder but held a confused expression.

"What kind of tension...you don't mean...tension, tension.." He started to whisper the last part but i was utterly confused about what he meant. I mirrored his confused expression with one of my own "stress I mean...what other kind of tension is there?" I must have said something hilarious, either that or he found my lack of knowledge hilarious. He had thrown his head back and he was holding his stomach with laughter. "y-you oh Chester! that's so funny! you really have the good-guy act down to ...a...wait your- you're not joking?"

I shook my head as he tried to calm himself down ."wow you uncultured old man" he said with fake sympathy which caused him to punch him in the shoulder , i suppose i was surprisingly strong as he flinched and rubbed where i hit him. "okay soo i can't believe i'm going to explain tension to an old man but...when you have really strong feelings towards someone you may feel some-" I cut him off immediately with "OKAY OKAY! I GOT IT...That wasn't at all where my mind was.." My face was firetruck red as i placed my hands over my eyes.

Alaric chuckled at me and patted my back "Dude chill it's nowt to be embarrassed about, besides you did see Maddox na-" the door of the witchy room opened at that point and Maddox galloped out with a grin on his face. "Chester guess what I learnt" he demanded whilst sitting next to me and poking my red cheek . "What?" my voice was muffled by my hands as i couldn't bare to directly at him . "There could be a way to trap Alviva!"
