Chapter 15

Simone's POV

I was annoyed. Damn pissed. How dare he? I poured myself another glass of whiskey.

"What has got you looking all grumpy?" Virginia asked as she joined me on the balcony overlooking the beautiful gardens. After  Xavier left me all hot and bothered I retired to the balcony opposite the living room.

Virginia took a whiff of the cigarette she held in hand and handed it to me. She sat in the empty chair beside me and poured herself a glass of whiskey.

"Your damn brother is getting on my nerves. " I muttered.

"Hey, just let it go. He's going to get married to Mia anyway." She replied, her gaze on the garden.

"You just don't get it, do you? I'm not letting go today or tomorrow or ever. I'll advice both of them to keep that in mind."

"good luck with that, Sim. She looks like a tough piece, and you are in for a battle if you plan on messing with my brother" She stood up and left me thinking after her words.

Mia's POV

Everyone seemed to be busy, one way or the other. Damon and Xavier had gone to visit some 'friend' who apparently could give them more information about Simone's father. I walked towards the living room when I spotted an open door. I looked around, then walked in.It was a white room with a huge grand piano in the middle. It was beautiful. It brought tears to my eyes. As a kid my father always helped me with the piano as I played the violin. Sometimes he just went downright to teaching me how to play the piano. It looked exactly like the type we had back then. I passed my fingers over the black shiny wood. So much memories.

I wish dad could hear me play now

I wish dad could hear me play now.I sat behind the piano and ran my fingers over the white keys. I could hear his voice telling me the names of each of the keys.

"Now you're a pianist?" I heard a feminine voice behind me. I turned to look at the eldest of Xavier's sisters. Virginia shut the door behind her and waltzed in and sat in the armchair that sat opposite the piano.

I smiled." I'm not really good. I just know a few keys and chords. My dad was a pianist." I replied, my gaze still on the white keys as I played what was commonly known as the scale.

"Mum says you play the violin so well. She couldn't stop talking about you. You seem to be on her good graces already." Virginia said. I couldn't pick up the emotion behind her words. She didn't sound envious neither did she sound happy.

"Can you play? The piano I mean." I asked.

She stared at me for a few seconds before responding.

"Yeah. We all can. Mother insisted we learnt it. She is an instrumentalist. She plays everything."

"Mind playing something for me?" I asked, testing the waters. She looked as if I'd grown horns with a perfectly quirked brow.

Slowly, she stood and approached where I sat. I scooted over for her to sit.
