Erick's Point of View

"Hello, Dr. Villanueva. I'm currently in Puerto Galera, and I would like to ask a favor from you," I said over the phone, my gaze fixed on the man named Wilhelm, who's running out of chances to live.

[ How may I help you, Mr. Olivers? ]

"I'm here at Aninuan Villa. Please send me some lift, two vehicles will do, and please make it quick because this is somewhat an emergency."

I half-panicked when I noticed he's almost dead as he gasped for air. Hindi pwedeng mamatay ang lalaking 'to, hindi muna ngayon.

Kinaladkad ko siya papunta sa kanto kung saan nakaabang na ang sasakyang pinadala ni Dr. Villanueva.

Coming from a well-off family sure has its advantages, especially during moments like this when there's always a safety net to fall back on, no matter where life leads you. Actually, hindi lang si Dr. Villanueva ang kilala ko rito, marami pa sila. Siya lang ang tinawagan ko dahil siya ang makakatulong sa akin para sa plano kong 'to.

I decided to let Tanya return to Manila with Stephen, giving her the chance to reflect and free her heart and mind from thoughts of this guy.

"What?! I can't do that, for Pete's sake! Are you crazy, huh, Erick?"  That's his reaction to what I have told him. Ang simple lang ng pinapagawa ko, tanginang 'yan.

I gritted my teeth in anger and glanced at the man lying on the bed. He seemed fine now. Wala na ang bala sa katawan niya at maayos na raw ang kalagayan niya ayon kay Dr. Villanueva.

Dr. Villanueva is a dear friend of my mom. Back when she was still alive, they worked together on several medical programs in Manila. Nakapunta na ako rito sa bahay niya dati noong elementary pa lang yata ako, noong dinala ako ni mommy. I observed their collaborative work on various operations and surgeries right here in this very laboratory. He is a plastic surgeon by the way.

"My parents would be very disappointed in you, Dr," I said in a chill tone as I pulled out my gun.

"And so they will to you!" He's mad. The old man is mad. Napatingin siya sa hawak kong baril at nakita ko ang tensyon sa kaniyang mga mata. Napalunok pa siya.

Inikot ko ng isang beses ang swivel chair na inuupuan ko. "Dami mong sinasabi. Will you do it or not?"

"Never," he firmly stated while removing his gloves.

Kinasa ko ang baril at tinapunan niya iyon ng tingin. Mukhang napapadasal na siya sa lahat ng santong kilala niya.

"I am worse than my father, Dr. Villanueva," I said almost a whisper while playfully staring at the gun I am holding.

Bumuntong hininga siya. "We'll start tomorrow, then," he replied as he walked out.
