Chapter 22

Jordan's POV

 I  could not believe this is Kyle my body went all defensive and I touched my stomach a bit and I was still gazed at him until I could tear my eyes off him. The moment they began asking me questions I stumbled on my words, this guy was really making me nervous, I was scared of how he was looking at him, like he was seeing something different and praying that he doesn’t ask one of the personal questions. He is the CEO; he can ask any question he wants. While answering my confidence level increased and felt like I could answer anything until they asked me this one question

''You were a secretary at a law firm in the west, what happened?'' That question just crushed me, there are a lot of things that were running through my mind, firstly that I am pregnant and the father of this child does not know, I was no longer working there because I was fired and lastly is that I am homeless I have practically nothing then I told the only rational

'' I moved back here'' I said a little hesitant and scared but I spoke up again sterner

'' My sister is ill so I moved back here to live with her, she is the only one I have, my parents died when I was young'' I said eyes focused on the floor

It still hurts to talk about my parents even though I try to pretend that’s  all in the past, for me it doesn’t, that wound is still fresh and will never close up I guess. Finally the interview was over I swear if they didn’t finish it , Kyle's eyes would have bore a hole on me, He was looking straight at me without shifting his gaze to anywhere else

''Thank you for your time and patience'' I said looking and smiling at them then I did one big mistake, I looked at Kyle and its felt like his eyes were seeing through me and were pulling me to him. I quickly looked down before something happens. I went out the board room and went straight to the bathroom. When I opened the door I bumped in with a beautiful lady with brown curly hair, she looked wealthy and I’m sure she was, some people out there are privileged to have it all, Look at Kyle now, and he is a business man with businesses all around the world

'' I’m so sorry'' I said as I picked up her purse 

'' No its okay, I was lost too'' She said laughing

'' Do you perhaps know where the boardroom is?'' She asked and I directed her and then resumed going to the bathroom. When I got inside, I took a good look at the mirror of myself 

'I hope Kyle didn’t see my huge bulge' I said to myself rubbing my stomach, after I was done I went back to my desk and took a seat 

'' How did it go? Did you nail it?'' Austin said coming towards me 

''Yeah, I hope so'' I sighed and sat on my chair

'' How's the big boss?'' He asked coming towards me. Just thinking of Kyle brought shivers down my spine, and not the good kind. It just scares me that I have to tell him about his kid moreover how he will react

“Hopefully it went okay, and the boss looks like an okay guy, not what I expected completely” I said sipping my cup of tea and focusing on my computer. What I meant was all true, I expected the CEO to be some old guy with grey hair and wrinkled skin, not a young guy and especially not Kyle

“I bet you killed it, now I’m just waiting for my turn” Austin said returning to his desk And resuming what he was doing, I looked around the room and it was indeed empty, people would come in today and gone the next, this company means business, I got back to doing my Job until Mrs. Potter came in and gave us instructions to our new lesson.

The day went on rather slowly and the workload was too much, I guess there is so much pressure now because we are near the opening day and people were still being called. Austin would stand up or look out when they called someone, you can tell that he was anxious and was worried of when he would be called.
