Chapter 26

Jordan’s POV

“Oh My God Keera, you just had to!” I exclaimed. She just ruined my life as of now, how will I face him now what will I do now

“Sorry, I thought you told him since you guys come from the hospital together “She said back sympathetically as I went upstairs and threw myself in my bed.

I dread seeing him Monday

Monday come and I was trembling as I walked into the building. I glanced around before I got to the bathroom. When I got inside the bathroom I threw up again, I’m sure this is no longer morning sickness. I looked at my clock and I was 20 minutes earlier so I decided to waste the time at practicing how I’m going to tell him about the pregnancy

“Look Kyle don’t blame me. I only found out the same day you found out, the doctor just told me” I said looking at my reflection in the mirror, ‘No that lie is too obvious

“You know the funny this is that I was going to tell you before I collapsed “I said again, trying to make it a joke ‘just give up and face the results’ I thought and rinsed my mouth and went out of the bathroom and to my cubicle 

“Morning deary, how are feeling, are you okay? What happened last week, was it something you ate? Were you exhausted, is the boss overworking you?” Ruby said coming to me cubicle and bombarding with all these questions without waiting for me to answer

“She is fine Rudy, can you go back to your office” said a stern and intense voice from behind, I didn’t even look to know who it was and I was actually afraid to  look at him, I looked down as Ruby disappeared and he went to his office. I was so distraught and nervous that I forgot what my first task was. I got up and went to the coffee machine for his morning coffee and when I was done I went back to my cubicle not ignoring all the stares I got from the people, maybe they saw what happened last week. I went to my cubicle and stood at his office debating whether to knock or not so I decided to knock lightly but I didn’t get a respond so I knocked rather loudly and still silence.  I open the Door a little bit to see if he is inside, when I peeked my head inside I found him looking straight at me I went inside the office and it’s a miracle that the coffee didn’t even spill because I was literally shake but I think if I spilled the coffee he would have just fired me there and then 

I placed the coffee near him on the table looking at the floor and the table avoiding his eyes. The atmosphere was so tense I could sense his anger from where I stood 

“AA-Any I must do today?” I asked nervously avoiding his gaze by all means

“When were you gonna tell me?” He asked suddenly, I looked up at him to find his eyes boring straight at me 

“Well I was planning to-“I said before I was interrupted by him throwing everything that was in the desk down, luckily the coffee was out of his hand’s reach 

“Bullshit Jordan” He said angrily looking at me that I had to move back because I was scared of what he might actually do to me. My hand instantly, with instinct went to my belly and tears began rolling down my cheeks 

“Were you even going to tell me?” He said in a whisper, when I looked at his face I no longer saw an angry guy that he was moment ago, but now what I saw was hurt, the genuine hurt, the one I saw from the 19 year old boy whose father told him he was useless and I guess I also made him feel that way, when looking at him he tears rolled down uncontrollably I even let out a sob. I wanted to hold him tightly and tell him that everything was alright

“Right. Set up a conference call for me at 2pm with the following companies and call the cleaners to come tidy my office” he said pointing to a piece of paper and walking out of the office. I stood there crying, after he left I began crying more, I swear my tears would fill a river. After my water works session, I went to the bathroom and fixed my   face and began doing what he has asked me to do. 

An hour later he came back with two paper bags and headed straight to his office without even looking at me. I followed behind and waited for him to settle down on his seat before I started talking 

“Sir I could only get to 3 companies, the other said they were out of the country or busy” I said looking that. The delicious smell of what was inside the paper bags engulfed my nose, I was mentally drooling 

“Alright then, Take a seat, you are eating with me today” He said calmly and gesturing to the seat in front of him. I nodded and took a seat. He handed the paper bag to me and resumed opening the content inside his and eating 

“I bought you the one I bought last time because I didn’t know what you ate and did not eat” He said taking a bite of his sandwich, maybe he was taking a walk to think about the situation. I smiled and began eating the yummy sandwich. We silently enjoyed our sandwiches with peace and serene

“So How far along are you” He said suddenly looking at me 

“Uhmm I haven’t went to the doctors but I’m assuming it’s a month now” I said looking at him and back down 

“Oh you haven’t gone for a check-up?’’ He asked again and I shook my head. He went quiet after that eating our lunch 

Minutes later I stood up and thanked him and went to my cubicle, While looking for my lip balm in my bag I noticed my phone flashing on the screen, when I took it out I found 23 missed calls and 14 messages for  none other than Keera . I mentally groaned and sent her an message without looking at all her messages 

I will tell you when I get back 

I resumed with my work and tasks until I saw one the managers enter Kyle’s office after smiling at me. Minute later she came towards my cubicle 

“Ms Carter, can you please cover for my secretary for today “She said 

“No Ms Carter has a lot of work here, asks someone else” Kyle said appearing from his office and leaning in his doorframe. The other manager just nodded and looked down 

“Don’t help them, you have to take your situation in consideration” He said and pointing to my belly, I nodded and he went back inside the office .after he disappeared into his office I giggled and rubbed my belly

“This is your daddy baby “I said to my precious little one 

When I entered the house I was bombarded by Keera’s nonstop questions 

“Okay I will tell you every detail let me just sit down, I said smiling and laughing at her. Once we sat down I told her everything, seeing herb eyes widen and a smile creeping on her lips. After a while of talking, laughing and hugging I went upstairs and heading  to bed, I noticed my phone flash in my bag and saw it was a call from a number I couldn’t recognize I answered it with a quiet ‘hello’

“Hey Jordan is that you?” An all familiar voice rang over the phone 

“Yes this is her” I said. I wanted to ask who this was but didn’t want to sound rude

“Oh this is Kyle, Just to tell you that I booked an appointment for Saturday for a checkup” He said and a smile creeping in my face

“Yea sure, thanks” I said and after we said our goodnights I went to sleep with my hands on my belly 

‘Thank you Keera’ I whispered to myself
