Katie couldn't believe it had been three months since she'd last seen Travis, but even more she couldn't believe that she had to wait a whole month more before seeing him.

She was enjoying her time in college, studying botany as her major, but she was in New York, and Travis was in California.

They texted and facetimed, exchanging "I miss you"'s and "I can't wait to see you"'s that never got old, but were never the same as being there in person.

In 30 days precisely, Travis was coming back to New York to celebrate the Christmas holidays with Katie at Camp Half-Blood.

Even though it had only been a few months, Katie already missed camp more than she could have ever imagined. She never realized how much she relied on Miranda's steady chatter late into the night, head counselor meetings around the ping pong table, or even the Stoll's pranks, until they had disappeared.

Katie looked up from her not-really studying when she heard her phone chime with a notification, and was shocked to see that it was already 10:30 pm.

The message was from Travis.

When she first read it, she thought he had sent it to the wrong person, but then he sent another immediately after it, and she smiled to herself when she read it.

Hey there, Delilah

What's it like in New York City?

Katie was half tempted to remind him that he was from New York, but didn't have time, as Travis sent text after text.

I'm a thousand miles away

But, girl, tonight you look so pretty

Yes, you do

Times Square can't shine as bright as you

I swear, it's true

Katie was smiling a bigger smile than she'd smiled in a long time, and eagerly waited for his next text to arrive.

Hey there, Delilah

Don't you worry about the distance

I'm right there if you get lonely

Give this song another listen

Close your eyes

Listen to my voice, it's my disguise

This time, she couldn't stop herself from replying: But I can't hear your voice, stupid.

Almost instantly, her cheery ringtone split the quiet night air, and she quickly answered the video call.

And Travis was there, hair disheveled as always, cerulean eyes bright, a smirk gracing his lips.

"How about now, Katie-kat?"

He appeared to be standing in a hallway that seemed familiar to her, but she couldn't quite place where she'd seen it in the moment.

At that moment, there was a soft knock on the door to her small apartment, and just as she was telling Travis she'd be right back, the call ended abruptly.

She didn't think too much of it, but was sad because they had just started talking, and wandered absentmindedly to her door.

When she opened it and saw who was casually leaning against the doorframe, she was torn between hugging her boyfriend so tight his ribs would crack, and yelling at him for not warning her he was coming.

She went with the hug, but not before he could say one simple phrase, "I'm by your side."

Katie didn't think she had ever been so happy, studying forgotten as they slow-danced to her new favorite song, Hey There, Delilah for hours, before collapsing on her bed with matching expressions of pure joy on their faces.

Right before they fell asleep, Travis uttered three words that Katie had always felt but had never been brave enough to use, "I love you, Katie-kat."

She managed to reply a soft, "I love you too, Trav," before drifting off into blissful sleep.

Christmas seemed to have come early for both Katie and Travis, and they both knew in that instant that they wouldn't trade each other for the world.

ahhhh so im actually pretty happy with this one

I was listening to this song (Hey There, Delilah - Plain White T's)all day, and thought it would fit perfectly with a fluffy idea like this one

sorry it's shorter than usual, but I think the amount of fluff kinda makes up for it....maybe..?

also, thank you guys for 200 reads!!

bye!
