35. GOOD MORNING PRINCESS

I hugged the blanket as the events of my life flashed in front of my eyes that led to this point, I don't remember what happened after I lost my consciousness at the palace. I have no idea where I am and what I am doing in this forest with this monster in bed beside me, 'I should get out of here to a safe place before he wakes up' my instinct insisted. I got off the bed snatched the blanket slowly and wrapped it around me, I looked at him, he is sleeping peacefully hugging a pillow over his chest.

I tucked the blanket around me tight with a knot over my chest, I am taking deep breaths to stay calm, telling myself in my mind 'its okay divya, slow and steady, you are gonna get over it and you will survive this". First I had to find my clothes and cover myself properly, I looked around, the ground was filled with stones and mud there is a piece of saree and blouse in the mud, damp and soggy. I heard a horse neigh so I turned back, there was a horse tied to a tree with bags hanging on its side.

One of those bags is my sachet that I have been carrying from Udaygarh, I went to grab it and searched for my dagger, it wasn't there, I saw Shaurya's sword in the scabbard hanging in between the bags, I pulled out the sword from it anxiously, I wasn't cautious enough and It weighed double the weight of my sword pride, I slipped on a rock and dropped the sword. It made a big clank sound when it hit ground. The horse got startled and jumped frantically neighing loudly, I moved back from it scared clutching the blanket.

All these sounds woke up shaurya . He stood up fast and grabbed his sword from the ground like a reflex. I moved back in fear, I saw something glistening on the ground, it was my dagger, I picked it up and showed it to shaurya "Don't you dare come near me Shaurya, I will kill you if you try to do anything."

He scoffed " Good morning princess " and sighed as if my threats meant nothing, he put his sword back in the scabbard gently and controlled the neighing horse petting it over it's face. He took out a kurta from one of the bag and wore it.

He looked at me sighing with his eyebrows raised "Not with the dagger crap again. Put it down and wear some clothes. Go take a bath we have a long way to go. Come on, give me the dagger, princess" he spoke to me like I was a petty child playing with a dangerous toy. He was so calm maintaining his cool after everything. It angered me more.

"No, I wont listen to you. I should have never trusted you, I thought you changed from your ways but you didn't, you are and always will be a heartless greedy conqueror that would do anything for a win. Why should I listen to you? You betrayed me. You violated me. You kidnapped me and brought me in to this jungle and raped me. You are a backstabber. You are a rapist. You are a monster." I shouted whatever that came to my mind in anger.

He kept his hands over his waist and looked me in the eyes "Are you done? Are you done accusing me?" He walked towards me "I didn't do anything, princess I didn't betray you, I protected you. I didn't kidnap you, I am taking you to your home, Udaygarh. I didn't violate you in any way. I would never touch you or any other woman without consent. I am not the kind of a person you think I am."

He is coming too close to me. I stopped him threatening with the dagger.

"Stop right there. Don't come near me. You didn't touch me? really? Then why am I naked in your bed ?"

"There is a couple in this cottage that were celebrating something and we were their unexpected visitors. It is their bed."

"Oh you see a bed and a woman and this is what you do ?" I asked pointing to my clothes in the mud.

"You did that to yourself. I did nothing. Nothing happened between us." he insisted frustratingly.

"I did that to myself, oh, shaurya, please use that cunning brain of yours to come up with a better explanation. How do you explain the blood stains on the mattress?" I shouted with words trailed off my mouth in the end.
