Chapter one- christmas eve

Mike: mom they were supposed to get here 30 minutes ago
Karen: they probably got stuck in traffic
Mike: what traffic is there in hawkins mom
Karen: they will be here soon, i promise mike *laughs*
*25 minutes later joyces car pulls up in the driveway*
Mike: MOM THEY'RE HERE
Karen: well go say hi then mike
*mike walks out on the porch as el opens the car door*
*mike runs down the driveway in his socks*
Mike: EL *hugs her as she gets out*
Joyce: sorry were a little late, we ran out of gas on the middle of the road
Mike: no problem, were just glad you made it safe in this weather. merry christmas eve joyce
Joyce: you to mike *walks inside*
Mike: i feel like i haven't seen you in forever
El: same, but i mean i saw you on thanksgiving
Mike: Wheres will?
El: he's riding with jonathan, they shouldn't be to far behind us
Mike: oh ok, uh do you need help with bags?
El: no i just have my backpack
Mike: ok well you can either sleep in the basement or up in my room, the basement might be a little crowded at the moment but it's up to you
El: your rooms fine mike
*mike smiles and the quickly walk up the icy driveway to get inside*
El: hi ms wheeler
Karen: hey el *hugs her* were glad you guys came! Make yourself at home
*mike and el walk up the stairs*
Nancy: El hey, i love your jacket. Do you know when jonathan is coming?
El: thanks and he's on his way with will, maybe like 10 minutes
*mike and el go to mike's room to unpack*
Mike: so how have you been
El: ok i guess
Mike: you guess?
El: i don't know, it's been kinda boring living there without having you, max, dustin, and lucas
Mike: yeah we miss you and will alot
El: where do you want me to put my stuff
Mike: anywhere is fine, you can just put your bag on the ground over there
El: *el puts her bag down* so did your mom say how long i can stay
Mike: she said you can stay as long as you want, she doesn't really care, as long as joyce doesn't mind
El: That's great, did you get a new bed?
Mike: oh, yeah i kinda outgrew my last one sense you were here, it's a full sized bed now
El: will i be sleeping on that too or?
Mike: i mean i figured you would but you don't have to
El: no i'd love to i just didn't know what you meant by sleep in your room
Mike: oh, well anyway, i've missed you alot and uh i wanted to know maybe if you wanted to stay here for like a month or maybe even longer
El: wait really?
Mike: yeah i mean i have school but and you would have to stay home by yourself till 2 but if your ok with that
El: does joyce know that i can stay that long
Mike: she doesn't care she said as long as you're safe
El: *hugs mike*
*mike just smiles*
Karen: *yells from the stairs* Mike Nancy, there here
Mike: ok, you unpack i'll be right back
*nancy and mike run to will and jonathan's car*
Nancy: *hugs jonathan*
Mike: dude i've missed you so much
Will: same! Lets go inside and talk though
*they all walk inside and all unpack*
Joyce: well i'll see you guys when you get home
Will: we don't have room in the car for eleven though, how is she going to get home if you leave
Mike: she's staying here for a while
Will: oh cool, *they all say bye to joyce*
Mike: so you can go out your stuff downstairs and then come back up for dinner, im going to check if el needs any help real quick
*walks upstairs*
Mike: do you need anything, dinner is almost done
El: im fine, and that's good i haven't eaten all day i don't think
Mike: jeez
El: *el looks at the floor then up at mike and walks over to him and kisses him* well i'm home now, you don't have to miss me anymore
*mike just smiles*
Karen: MIKE DINNER
Mike: ONE MINUTE MOM, sorry el she yells like a lot
El: its ok *laughs*
*they walk downstairs to the basement to get will for dinner*
Will: why does it smell like smoke down here
*mike just stares at the floor*
*el hugs will*
Will: i'm surprised you guys got here before us
El: you guys drive like 15 miles per hour, thats why
Mike: jesus, let's go eat
*they go sit down*
El: thank you for dinner ms wheeler
Karen: no problem, thank you for coming
Will and jonathan: yes thank you, this is really good
Mike: oh and mom by the way lucus, dustin, and max are coming over tomorrow night after dinner if thats ok
Karen: that's fine with me, just don't be too loud so holly can sleep
Mike: deal
Karen: So eleven how long do you think you are going to stay?
El: oh um i don't really know, mike suggested a month
Karen: that works, you can stay as long as you want
El: thank you
*they all finish dinner and mike, el, and will go to the basement*
Mike: so everyone else is going to come around 6 tomorrow
El: nice
Will: well then, how's school here?
Mike: same old same old, nothing really has changed
El: we do homeschool in are new town
Mike: i wish i was homeschooled
Will: it's pretty boring
El: yeah
Mike: its kinda weird to think you guys are like siblings now
El: yeah i guess *laughs*
Will: wait so are you guys like dating?
Mike: *Looks at el and holds her hand* i mean yeah, we never really said we were back together i guess
Will: well i'm going to go to bed
Mike: ok, we will be in my room if you need anything
*they go upstairs*
*el sits on the bed and mike sits next to her and falls on his back to watch the ceiling*
Mike: i have a crazy idea
El: *el lays back with him* what is it?
Mike: just move in with me
El: i'd love that mike, but i'm sure your parents don't want 4 kids in the house
Mike: we aren't kids, i can take care of myself el
El: fine we can ask her tomorrow, deal?
Mike: Deal *kisses her*, can I give you your Christmas present now?
El: if you want *sits up*
*mike hands her a small box wrapped in blue paper*
*she unrapes in and opens it to see a shiny diamond ring*
Mike: it's a promise ring
El: what's that?
Mike: its a ring to let everyone know i promise to be with you forever and that i would basically ask to marry you if we weren't so young el
El: it's so pretty *puts it on and hugs mike* thank you. Now i'll give you your present
Mike: *gets handed a box* what is it
El: you have to open it silly
*mike unwraps the box to see a new pair of converse*
El: i didn't really know what you wanted
Mike: el there perfect
El: Well then, do you wanna get some sleep?
Mike: yeah *takes his shirt off and pants off* do mind if i sleep with just boxers on or no
El: i don't care mike *laughs*
*they both fall asleep hugging each other*
