Stranger things 4- big changes

Part 37- lake training

    It was now the next morning and all the kids had woken up. 
Mike: so el, we wanna talk to you
El: whatd i do wrong this time
Mike: nothing, nothing, we just wanted to help with your powers, is that ok?
El: oh uh yeah
Will: well go by the lake so you can move the trees and stuff
El: yeah but if my powers glitch out again it could hurt you guys, i'm going alone
Mike: we will go with you and watch from the distance
El: just for today, then tomorrow i go alone
Max: were not making any promises
El: well then what are we waiting for
Will: we haven't even eaten yet
El: not hungry
    The four kids ran out the door to the lake. 
Mike: just be careful
El: im not stupid mike
Mike: yeah, sorry *mike said stepping back to the others*
    El closed her eyes focusing on the hate.  She knew it was wrong but at this point it was the only thing that seemed to be working.
    The other gasped at the sight of el lifting a whole tree out of the ground as she started screaming and dropped the tree making a giant thud noise. 
Will: EL, YOU DID IT
Mike: you focused on the bad didn't you
El: pappa
Mike: but you need to focus on the good el
El: it doesn't work
Mike: try?
El: does not work
Max: well what makes you mad
El: kali, pappa, hopper, gate, lab, bad men, tanks.
Will: well then focus on those next time you do it

    The next weeks went by of just el and the 3 of them going back everyday.  They made lots of progress but not enough.  It was the last day of summer and the whole party decided to get together.  They all were at El, max, and wills house up in el and max's room.

Lucas: i heard troys leaving the school this year
Dustin: i heard that there's going to be a new lunch lady, supposedly her food is better
Max: why is it always about food dustin
Dustin: i'm not answering that Maxine
Max: call me that one more time and see what happens
Lucas: ok then, i heard that there's going to be a arcade in the school
Mike: wait what?
Lucas: im kidding, i was trying to get your attention because you wouldn't stop looking at el
Mike: whatever, i heard the PE teacher is making the school get rid of the chocolate pudding
Dustin: WAIT WHAT
Mike: yep *mike said laughing*
Dustin: i'll have to talk to the school about that
Max: whatever. I heard the school is getting a new principal
Will: lame, we get a new one every year it seems now
Dustin: yeah i guess so
El: school sucks, i don't know why you guys are so excited
Dustin: science duh
El: i'd rather go to a boarding school
Mike: how do you even know what that is
El: im not that dumb
Mike: why a boarding school, we still have to find hop- hope, uh hope, hope in regular school, right max?
Max: mmmm yes hope
Lucas: huh?
Will: hope
El: i want to go because if i'm being honest, school here is boring, the kids suck, yeah that's all i got so far
    Mike, confused, looked over at El, raising an eyebrow.
