Chapter 17. Getting Close

(Typos and Wrong Grammar)

Nilapag ko ang pagkain na binili ni Clyde at nagsimulang kumain.

"Kala ko ba two weeks ka mawawala" sabi ko at sumubo ng pagkain.

"I didn't say two weeks tho" he think carefully remembering all he said to me before he left.

"Luh sabi mo kaya sa akin, 'Faye I'll be going to Ilocos for two weeks take care of the dogs" I mimicked his voice when he told me those words.

He shook his head just like telling me that he didn't said those.

"Bakit ka pumunta sa pet center kanina?" curious kong tanong.

Eh kasi naman nabigla talaga ako ng makita ko siya. Hindi pa naman alam ng mga ka-trabaho ko na kilala namin ang isa't-isa.

"To get the dogs. Cuz' you just texted me that you will bring the dogs to the pet center" he explained.

Nag text nga pala ako sa kanya na dadalhin ko ang aso sa pet center, nakalimutan ko.

I just nod and eat my food. Why does I feel awkward.

Ilang araw simula ng mangyari ang aksidenteng paglapat ng aming mga labi ay hindi ko pa rin ito makalimutan kaya siguro na a-awkward pa rin ako sa kanya hanggang ngayon.

"Hey are you fine?" Clyde snapped when he saw me spacing out.

Napatingin naman ako sa kanya "Ah? Okay lang" then I looked away.

When we were done eating , I started to wash the dishes and saw Tobi looking at me, wagging his tail. So I wipe my hands, bent down and caressed his head.

"What? Gutom ka ba?" I asked as if he would answer me. I grab a dog food and feed him a little. Then went back in washing the dishes.

Matapos akong maghugas ng pinggan, nakita kong naglalaro sina Cooper at Tobi kaya nakisali din ako.

I grab the ball and throw it, they run hurriedly trying to catch the ball, until the door opened showing Clyde in front of them.

He looked surprised, then look at me realizing that I was playing the dogs.
Kaya kinuha niya ang bola at hinagis pupunta sa akin. Mabuti na lang nasalo ko ito.

I glared at him "Gusto mo ba akong matamaan ng bola"

He laughed instead "No, I just throw it casually"

I raised my brow and throw the ball in his direction, hoping na matamaan siya kaso nasalo pa ng loko.Tinawanan niya lang ako.

"Akala ko ba nakikipaglaro ka sa mga aso"

"Nakikipaglaro naman talaga ako" I defended myself

"Eh parang gusto mo yata tayong dalawa ang maglaro eh" he playfully
said.

I look at him with disgust "Ew! huwag kang mag assume"

He just shrugged and gave the ball to Tobi. While I glared at him.

Nagpatuloy kami sa paglalaro at ng mapagod ako ay napag desisyon kong gawin pumunta sa banyo at gawin ang aking night care routine.

Nag half bath muna ako, pagkatapos ay nag face wash. When I'm done, I put a facial mask and went outside.

I am in the couch playing in my phone while wating for the facial mask.

Lumabas si Clyde "What the fuck!" gulat niyang sabi at napahawak sa kanyang dibdib.

"Luh, para kang nakakita ng multo" tawa kong sabi.

"Para ka naman talagang multo" he whispered but I could almost hear it. "Ano ba yan?" turo niya sa mukha ko.

"Facial Mask" simpleng sagot ko. "Gusto mo I try? May isa pa ako"

Kinuha ko sa kwarto ang isa pang face mask, lumabas ako at lumapit sa kanya.

Napaatras siya bigla. "Oyh! Ano yan! Hindi ako pumayag" tanggi niya.

"Silent means yes" tawa kong sabi.

I tiptoed, mas mataas kasi siya sa akin kaya hindi ko maabot ang mukha niya.

He grabbed both of my hands as a protest, but it is already late when I put the face mask in his face and tap it using my fingers.

"Done! See ang cute mo" I laughed when I saw the animal printed face mask in his face.

My laughed faded, when I saw him staring at me. I quickly avoided his gaze.

Oh gosh my heart beat is getting crazy again. Argh.

His brows furrowed, and his lips parted forming a smile "I'm cute?"

I realized what I just said, and look away "Sinong cute? Ikaw?" I laughed to ease my nervousness "Hindi kaya, sabi ko ang cute ng face mask"

He take a step towards me, umatras naman ako at agad na lumayo "Tanggalin mo yan pagkatapos ng fifteen minutes" I said and run towards my room.

I locked the door and held my chest.

*Phew* kinabahan ako dun ah*

Wait-- why would I get nervous? Weird.

Tinanggal ko na ang face mask pagkatapos ay natulog na din ako.

Argh, it's 2 o'clock in the midnight but I still can't sleep. There's always been bothering in me, but I don't know what really it is.

Bumangon ako ginulo ko ang aking buhok, I wear my cardigan before going out.

Pagbukas ko ng pinto ay pareho kaming nagulat.

"Hindi ka makatulog?"

"Can't sleep?"

We both said in unison and both laughed.

Pumunta ako sa kusina at si Clyde naman ay pumunta sa veranda.

Nagtimpla ako ng gatas at ginawan ko din siya.

Inabot ko ito sa kanya at mukhang nagulat naman siya.

I smiled "Sabi ng mama ko kapag hindi ako makatulog uminom daw ako ng gatas"

Kinuha niya naman agad ito "Thanks"

I took a sip of milk, then look at him "Bakit hindi ka makatulog?"

"There's a lot bothering in me lately" he said and took a sip.

Pareho pala kami. I look at the view my most favourite in this condo, the city especially the city lights at night.

"This is the reason, why I choosed to live in this condo" he said.

"Same" I know he is referring to the view since I could feel that we are both staring at it.

"I can't finish my project" problemado niyang sabi.

Nagulat ako dahil first time siyang nag open up sa akin lalo na sa pagpainting niya.

"Look for inspirations then. Think of those good memories that makes you happy. Try to look at those beautiful views like in the oceans or even this the city lights" advice ko sa kanya.

"Thanks" He smiled and patted my head. "You should sleep, it's not healthy sleeping late" then he went inside.

Sumimangot ako "Parati ka din namang late matulog eh"

I don't know when did this start, but as time, days, and months passes by I got to know him more. I saw his different moods either his serious, annoying, or whatever. I felt like in four months of living with him I am getting close to him, and I'm afraid that I got attached to him more.
