(Patton POV; First Person (Ew))

Ugh, I woke up already feeling on edge. It was a recording day and, while this was technically Virgil's job, I was very anxious about it. Why, you may ask? Well, this episode was around Thomas's ex-boyfriend.

Don't get me wrong, nothing bad happened between them! It's just...  Well... I've had a hard time accepting that they weren't together  anymore. Thomas and Roman were also having a hard time, but, as Thomas's  heart, guess who was affected most? Your very own cardigan-clad dad!

While I was getting ready for the video I couldn't help but let my  mind travel to all that we had done together. My room was absolutely  riddled with memories between us— them. Their first date, their first  kiss, everything...

I sighed as I tied my cardigan around shoulders. This is going to be a long day...

Keep it together Patton, I thought to myself as Logan and  Roman argued back and forth. Virgil's voice was modified for the sake of  the video, it's deep echo bouncing around my head. I wanted to  contribute to the argument, as it was my video, but I was too caught up  in my own anxiety to bother. I took in a sharp intake of breath as Logan  borderline yelled his line.

"All of this because Patton can't let go of one person?!" The  room was silent as they waited for me to deliver my line. In a much  quieter voice as Logan took a step towards me, "Patton? Are you  alright?" I let out a hiccup as a small sob escaped my throat.

Virgil gasped softly and walked into the middle of the room, saying  something I couldn't quite hear. The others left a few moments later,  Virgil walking up to me.

I could barely hear Virgil through my cotton-filled ears as bigger  sobs shook my body. "on— Patton? You with me?" My ears cleared just  enough to hear him. I looked up slowly, trying to avoid eye contact as  best as I possibly could.

"Hey Pat, can I touch you?" He asked as softly as possible. I took a  moment to think before nodding slowly. He put his hands against my  forearm, slowly dragging them down to my hands. He braided our fingers  together, lightly rubbing my hand with his thumb to ground me.

"I need you to take a deep breath in for me okay? Can you do that?"  He tried his best to make eye contact with me. I nodded and took in a  breath, in for four right? Or was it five? What if it was three?! Virgil seemed to sense my panic.

"In for four alright, breath in, 1, 2, 3, 4. Hold for seven," he  counted, "out for eight," He continued to rub my hands softly breathing  with me to help me keep track.

"You're doing great, absolutely wonderful. Just focus on your  breathing, Pat." I nodded at the affirmation, mustering the voice to  mutter a quick, "okay," before counting in my head again, freely letting  tears pouring down my face. We stood like that for a few minutes, me  breathing with Virgil as he muttered small praises in between breaths.

Eventually, my heart slowed a bit and my breathing got easier to  control. "Pat, can you tell me four things you can see?" Virgil  requested. I nodded and looked around.

"You, uh, the— the stairs, the kitchen, the camera." I listed. Virgil  nodded along and asked for a few things I could feel. "My— my shirt,  your hands, the lights."

"Two things you can hear?"

"Your voice, the air conditioning." My voice was steady, along with  my heart and breathing. I had stopped crying a little bit ago, which was  a relief.

"Okay, perfect. What did you have for breakfast today?" I thought for  a moment, trying to remember, before my face heated slightly.

"I had the last two cookies." Virgil laughed a bit at that. We stood  there for a bit longer, my legs hurt from not moving for a while.

"Do you want to go lay down on the couch?" Virgil asked, leaning a  bit closer while moving his hands to my wrists. I finally looked him in  the eye and smiled a bit. "Yeah, that would be nice." My voice was a bit  wet, most definitely deeper than usual. My head also hurt from crying,  which sucked, but hey, what can ya do?

He slid his hands onto my forearms and gently pushed me over to the  couch. He sat down first before tugging me so I was sitting next to him.  I pulled my legs up so they where draped next to me, leaning into  Virgil's side. He wrapped an arm around my waist and held me a bit  closer.

"Do you want to talk about it?" He asked as quietly as he could. I sat for a moment thinking.

"Is 'kinda,' an option?" I hummed pushing my head into his shoulder.  He smiled slightly and nodded. His hand softly rubbed against my side,  tickling me a bit.

"We can talk when you want to." He comprised. I shook my head and pulled away a bit, only to shift positions though.

"No, no, I want to now, it's just... Just..." I couldn't find the  words. He sat patiently, being careful to not point a waiting stare at  me. "I can't really pin-point why that happened. I've been on edge all  day and sorta..." I put my hands into my pockets and pulled out a broken  pencil, "snapped." Virgil let out a small laugh and turned his head to softly kiss me on the forehead.

"That's totally understandable. You could say I understand," he pulled up his sweater paws, "purrfectly."  We fell into a small giggle fit together, our voices dancing  beautifully. I sighed in content and leaned heavily against him.

"Do you want to watch a movie? Maybe Lilo and Stitch?" He offered,  leaning over and grabbing the TV remote from behind him. I nodded  enthusiastically. He chuckled and opened Netflix, popping on the movie  and getting comfortable.

That's how the rest of the night went, no video, no arguments, just  us laying on the couch. The others came in later to turn all the lights  and stuff off, deciding to lay on the couch with us. We didn't move from  there until dinner, but even then we just went back to the couch and  fell asleep for the night; not before everyone took off their makeup  though.

This is absolutely perfect.

1085 words and two pages later and we are finally done. I hope you liked it, I tried my best. Hey, a little Moxiety never hurt anyone, eh? This was inspired by a post by 'bipwip' on Instagram (maybe Tumblr if someone can find it?), So thanks to him I guess?

Anyway, have a great day/afternoon/night! Stay safe out there friends!
