Chapter 57 - The Plan

Grizz, completely oblivious to Logan's behavior at the hospital, was heading to Luke's house with his little team for their planned gathering. When he entered with his friends and his lover, Luke's parents suddenly stopped what they were doing and looked weirdly at Grizz.

"Oh, hum... Grizz, what a surprise ! I didn't understand you were also coming... Does your mother know about you being here ?" Luke's mom, Anna, asked him nervously.

"Anna, nice seeing you again. Yeah, I already texted my mom after school ended, she knows I'm here." he answered politely, not liking the sudden attention on him alone.

Luke's dad seemed really nervous too but also quite concerned. He walked to Grizz's level and patted him on the head.

"Everything's gonna be okay, kid. I know things are really hard on you right now, but you'll be fine in the end." he told him seriously.

Grizz didn't really know how to react. The gesture felt nice but he felt like this man knew all about his current personnal situation and it made him really uncomfortable. He had a sad look on his face and Grizz could really feel sincerity coming out of his words of reassurance.

"Well, thank you, John. Really appreciate it." Grizz mumbled, almost embarassed.

"Just know that you can always come here in case of emergency. Our home is your home." Luke's dad added with a shy but determined smile.

"Thanks..." he answered, blushing.

There was an awkward silence and Luke decided it was time for him and his friends to take their leave.

"Well if you'd excuse us, we have maths homeworks that need to be taken care of." he addressed his parents before making his way to his room with his friends.

When they were all upstairs behind closed doors, they all looked at Grizz.

"What was that about, man?" Clark asked, intrigued.

"I...I actually don't know. Luke, did you say anything about me to your parents ?" the healer asked.

"I didn't. I didn't even mention you today. I really don't know what just happened... Maybe they felt it was a though day for you by the look on your face...?" Luke replied, confused.

"What look on my face ? My face looks just fine." he said jokingly, trying to ease the mood.

"Luke, maybe your parents heard something about Grizz from another parent ?" Sam said, thinking about the whole thing.

"Do you think maybe our parents are sharing informations about us ?" Jason said, thinking out loud.

"Maybe, it sure would explain my dad's behavior." Luke replied.

"That's fucking great, now all of your parents also know how miserable I am. Exactly what I needed right now ; for everyone to know about it." Grizz sighed.

"Sorry, Grizz. My dad shouldn't have said anything..." Luke apologized.

"It's fine, Luke. It was a bit weird but it actually felt great to have the approuval and support of a father figure for once." Grizz answered with a little smile.

"Well, you heard the man, bud. You'll always be welcome here." Luke said with a wide laugh.

"That's not fair ! I also want Grizz to move in with me !" Clark said joyfully.

"Actually he's my man. So if he's moving anywhere, that's with me." Sam added with a laugh before kissing his lover on the cheek.

"Yeah, sure ! Moving in with you and Campbell is an amazing idea for Grizz, Sam !" Luke retorted with a smile.
