Destiny’s Pov –

“Destiny please! Open the door!”

Biting my lower lip I glanced up from my nearly filled suitcase to the door.

“Should I?” I whispered.

“No.” Michael said firmly, “Where’s your makeup and toothbrush and stuff?”

“Bathroom.” I mumbled.

Nodding, he tossed my tennis shoes into the suitcase before crossing to the adjoining bathroom and rummaging around.

“Destiny I’m sorry please I…I shouldn’t have said that.” Ashton pleaded from the other side of the door.

Taking a shaky breath I added my cell phone charger and laptop to the bag. Reemerging from the bathroom Michael handed me my backup bag, tooth brush, shampoo, conditioner and my tooth brush.

“Thank you.” I said shakily, trying hard not to cry.

“Don’t worry about it.” He sighed, “Do you need anything else.”

Not trusting my voice I shook my head.

Nodding, he zipped my suitcase and lifting it off of the bed held out a hand. Smiling at him gratefully, I slipped my hand into it and walked behind him as he opened the bedroom door.

“Destiny!” Ashton breathed, “Wait… is that a suitcase? You’re not leaving. Where are you going.”

“I…um…I need a break Ashton.” I whispered.

“What do you mean you need a break?” he yelled, “How self centered can you be Destiny? What am I supposed to do with the girls?”

“Nothing.” I said slowly, “I’m uh…. I’m taking them with me.”

“What?” Ashton yelped, “You can’t do that!”

“Just for tonight.” I muttered, “You’re…. you’re out of control right now.”

“You’re not even their Mom! You’re just their Dad’s annoying girlfriend they’re going to grow up hating!”

“You know what Ashton!” Michael shouted, “I don’t know what the fuck happened to you but we’re leaving now.”

Shoving Ashton out of the way, Michael pulled me down the hall and down the stairs to where Luke and Michael were standing with Ashley and Minnie.

“Mommy?” Ashley questioned, rubbing her eyes.

“Come here sweetie.” I sighed, kneeling down.

Running from behind Luke’s arms, Ashley leapt into my arms nuzzling her tear stained face in my neck.

“C’mere Minnie.” Michael mumbled.

Her eyes wide, Minnie shuffled over to Michael and wrapped her tiny hand around three of his fingers.

“Destiny I don’t know where you think you’re going!” Ashton cried, “Why are you doing this, can’t we just talk an…”

“No Ashton!” I snapped, “Every time we have an argument you say mean things then just wait for me to cry so you can swoop in and woo me with stuff! I don’t want stuff! I don’t want your money! I don’t’ want a land rover, or expensive purses, or these damn shoes! Or this massive house! This house is a royal pain in the ass to clean! I want you! The real you! The one I fell in love with but you’re a monster! You absolute as….fu….mean boy!”

His eyes wide, Ashton blinked, watching helplessly as I stormed over to Michael’s car and loaded Ashley into the backseat.

“Mommy?” she whispered.
