There was a constant tap of rain pattering on the window.

The patter grew louder and the raindrops got heavier until suddenly...

...a clap of thunder.

I burrowed deeper into the bed covers, covering my ears so I wouldn't hear the storm outside.

Ever since I was a child, I've been scared of thunder. I guess I still am.

The claps of thunder boomed one after another.

It was beginning to feel unbearable.

I finally got up and walked to Claude's bed.

He was already asleep.

I shook at his shoulder. 'Claude,' I whispered at him 'Get up.'

I had to call his name several times until he finally woke up.

'What?' He moaned.

There was a flash of lightning followed by another clap of thunder.

I fell to my knees.

'Don't tell me your scared of a little lightning?' Claude sniggered.

'And THUNDER!' I whimpered, curling into a ball on the floor.

'So what do you want me to do, make it stop?!' He said, annoyed and rubbing his tired eyes.

'Alright,' he finally said, 'Get in,' he moved the blanket and shuffled to the other end of the bed.

I shakely got up and lay on the side of his bed.

'Stay on your side,' he said, turning his back on me.

I closed my eyes, trying to cover myself with the remainder of the blanket.

Suddenly, there was an extremely loud boom of thunder.

I shuffled closer to Claude, wrapping my arms around him and hiding my face in his back.

He kicked me away with his leg, 'Don't be such a baby!' He moaned in his sleep.

I shuffled back to my side, curling into a little ball again.

Claude's POV

I could feel Raven curl into a  ball behind me, kicking my back as she did so.

Then I heard sobbing. Was she crying?

I turned around to face her. She was hiding her face between her knees.

'Are you okay, Simmons?' I asked, placing my hand on her shoulder.

'...so scary....' I heard her whimper.

I put my arm around her, pulling her closer me.

She quickly wrapped her hands around my waist, I could feel her shuddering against my body.

I stroked her hair.

'Don't worry,' I whispered 'Its just a little thunder.'

She burrowed further into my arms.

I started to hum a lullaby, hoping that she'd fall asleep.

'I know that song,' she said softly, with a shakey voice.

She began to hum along with me, until both of us fell asleep in each others arms with the storm slowly fading away in the background.
