Claude, Josie, her husband and I were sitting in the living room.

'So you're saying this Allen guy was a demon hunter?' Josie's husband, Lee asked us.

I nodded.

'Why would he hunt you?' Josie asked. 'You were barely a demon before and you only became a full one on Christmas day. How did he know that you were a demon?'

'I don't know,' I sighed.

'Maybe someone told him,' Claude interrupted. 'Hunters don't hunt on their own, their told to kill a specific demon.'

'But only when that demon is threat. Raven wasn't a threat,' Josie replied.

The three people looked towards me.

'When you were killing Allen,' Josie began, holding my hands 'Were you full conscious on what you were doing?'

I shook my head. 'No,'

'Did you feel more powerful?'

I nodded 'Yes,'

'While you were killing him, did you think you were doing the right thing.'

'No,' I replied quietly.

Claude got off the sofa and attempted to leave the room.

'Where are you going?' Josie asked him.

'To my room. I'm bored.'

She smiled a wide smile.

'Do you guys want to go to a New Years Eve party with us tonight?'

'We can't,' I stated 'We'll get caught.'

'Don't worry,' she sighed 'People will be too drunk to care.'

I finally nodded. 'Okay, let's go!'

'Yay!' Josie squealed like a child.

I went up to the guest room, looking for a dress for tonight in my backpack. Claude hadn't packed any dresses.

Josie knocked on the door 'Do you need anything?' She asked.

'Yeah.' I replied flatly 'A dress,'

'I know the perfect one you can borrow!' She answered behind the door.

I opened the door and she led me too her room.

She rummaged through her wardrobe.

'Found it!' She exclaimed, finally retreaving a small sleeveless purple dress.

I wore it and checked myself in the mirror.

Josie volunteered to do my hair and makeup.

'Are you sure I look alright?' I asked.

'Yes!' She exclaimed 'When Claude sees you he'll be like:' she did an impression of someone staring blankly into space while drooling.

'That face looks stupid,' I laughed.

'I know. Claude's face is always stupid.'

We both started to laugh.

'Hey Josie,' I finally asked 'Do you know the girl that Claude likes?'

She started to laugh harder until she finally nodded.

'Can you tell me who she is? Her name?'

'Nope. Sorry Ravie,'

'Please?' I begged.

She sighed 'Alright fine. As long as you don't tell Claude,'

'I swear I won't.'

'Claude likes-'

There was a knock on the door.

'Are you done yet?' Lee called.

'Nearly,' Josie replied, applying a bit more lipstick.

'Come on!' She said, holding my hand leading me out of her room.

I carefully walked down the stairs; the heels Josie let me borrow were a little too high.

I saw Claude at the bottom of the stairs wearing a black suit that he probably borrowed from Lee.

At the last step, I tripped and fell onto the floor.

Josie hurriedly picked me up. 'Are you okay?' She asked, brushing off my shoulder.

I nodded.

We sat in Lee's car and Josie sat in the passenger seat next to him so Claude and I had sit in the back together.

'Only one rule tonight,' Josie said as Lee began to drive 'Don't get too drunk.'

Both me and Claude nodded.

'That includes you mister driver,' she said to Lee, kissing his cheek.

I looked at the both of them. They were so happy together. They didn't even care about what they really were. Demons.

Would I ever be that happy with someone, human or demon?

I nearly felt jealous of them.

They were perfect.

'We're here,' Josie finally stated.

It was on of those restaurants.

After Lee had parked the car, we all went inside.

'You kids stay safe,' Josie said wandering off with Lee into the crowd to probably find their friends.

I sat on a table. Claude sat opposite me.

'Do you want to order something?' He asked me.

'I'm not hungry,' I replied.

'You don't look half bad,' he stated.

'What?' I asked; I didn't hear what he had said.

'I said you look nice,'

'Thank you,' I blushed.

It was rare that Claude ever complimented me.

There was a silence between us.

'Do you like me?' I finally mustered enough courage to ask.

'What, as in 'like a friend'?'

'Yeah,' I assured.

'No,' he replied.

I stared at him. 'You don't like me?'

'Do you want me to?' He asked smugly.

'No!' I exclaimed 'I was only asking!'

'Then why are you so shocked that I said no?'

'I'm not shocked!' I yelled back.

I could tell this party would be a pain in the neck.
