I can see the oceans in your eyes
Yet those are where the lies hide
Beneath that charming smile
Words that can destroy my self worth
This hand I hold turns cold
Disappearing when the light goes out
Reappearing when the light goes dim
Only staying to fulfill your needs
Where does it end and begin

Your eyes aren't the same anymore
Your words no longer affect me
My hands no longer scream to touch your body
Thorns are all that is felt
No longer smooth
But jagged like the edge of blades
Your lips no longer tasteful
Yet bitter with hatred and lies
Your eyes no longer capture my soul and lead it from the light
I no longer become your shadow
I no longer allow myself to be left behind
I no longer dance with your silhouette when you say you aren't mine
I no longer break my legs and twirl my toes
For your amusement
I no longer judge myslef for your flaws
No longer deal with the agonizing burden of trying to make you happy
Your toxic venom when you bite
No longer leaves me in a daze
I'm not in your control any longer
