( Five years ago)

A muffled scream jolted her awake from slumber. Mrs. Ray was confused for a second or two. It was dark with only a ticking noise audible at this hour.

She checked the time. The clock read 2:00 am, sharp.

She slowly figured out that the scream must have come from her daughter's room.

Tip-toeing off the bed, she took her umbrella as a self-defence option, in case any thug entered her daughter's room, walked as silently as possible towards the adjacent room, when she heard giggles.

"This girl must be watching dramas at this hour again" thought Mrs. Ray.
She tried to open Angelina's room door but it didn't budge.

"ANGELINA RAY" yelled her mother, as her phone slipped from her hand and landed on her face by this sudden 'sonic boom'.

She knew right away that she was in trouble.

She jumped off her bed, ran towards the door and opened it.
"Hehe, maa, why are you angry at this hour?"

" Wow, ARE YOU ASKING ME WHY I AM ANGRY AFTER WHAT YOU DID?"

"Ooooohhh..." She was finally enlightened by her Mom's wise (angry) words. A divine light penetrated her skull and whispered in her ears "you shouldn't have screamed at this hour, you dumbhead! Now you are done for!!!"

"Maa, I am sorry. I will not stay awake so late again, I promise."

The next morning

Mrs. Ray laid down breakfast on table.

Angelina came out after getting ready for the big day.
Yes, today was the day Angelina was going to get admitted to X University, one of the best universities of B city.

Mrs. Ray always cooked the tastiest food, always experimenting and trying out new dishes.

Angelina saw white cakes on the table. She asked "What is it called?".

Mrs. Ray smiled and said "idli".

"Yummmmm... Maa, you're the best. I am going to miss your food so much."

Mrs. Ray looked tough on the outside, but in reality she was the opposite. She hugged her daughter and said "I'll miss you too, honey".

Their cab stopped infront of the Campus. Angelina and her mother got down, paid the bill, pulled out luggage and stood Infront of the main entrance. They were amazed at how huge it was! Mrs. Ray let out a sigh thinking how she struggled bringing her only daughter up after her husband passed away in an accident.
Now that Angelina was finally going to get admitted in college, she realised all her hard work has paid off.

Happily they entered the campus. After completing admission procedure, Angelina said "Maa, thank you for accompanying me despite your busy schedule". Mrs. Ray smiled and said " This is what I should do as a mother."

She hugged her mom reluctant to let her go.. but alas.. this journey.. she has to complete on her own..

She watched Mrs. Ray go.. further and further.. until she disappeared from her sight.

Angelina thought to herself, this is a new life ,she must begin this with a broad smile and optimism. "I got this" Angelina walked towards her dorm after mentally patting her own back..

The dorm room was neither too big, nor too small. Her room accommodated four students. As she entered, she found she was the first one to report amongst her roommates.

There were two bunk beds in the room, along with four wardrobes, four study tables, and an attached bathroom. Walls were painted in lemon yellow, the ceiling was white. What attracted her the most was the sweet little balcony. She opened the door and stood on the balcony, when she noticed him.

"Handsome" she thought.

She settled on the lower berth of the bunk bed nearer to the balcony. She was about to open her luggage when her room door opened and three pretty girls entered the room.

She awkwardly said "Hi!" to each of them.

First day at the new place was not that bad. Angelina has made three new friends- Ruby, Samantha and Catherine. Yes, they were her room-mates.

Samantha and Catherine were students of Journalism and Mass communication. While Ruby was from Computer Science Engineering. Angelina got admitted in Civil Engineering.

She was happy to make three new friends on the very first day of her college life. The only thing she missed was her mom's cooking.

Angelina caught him staring at her for the fifth time. She got self-conscious. Was there anything on her face? Was she looking funny? Was her hair ok?

"Hello! I am Aaron" Her chain of thoughts was broken with this. She saw him standing infront of her, smiling.

He had dark curly hairs, eyes that could remind you of darkest of chocolates and a pair of perfect kissable lips......
