Alice
The drive to my childhood home is familiar and easy, requiring little thought on my part. I borrow Luke's SUV. First, he asked me to be my driver but I refused, taking him to my parent's house will not be a good idea at all.
I haven't informed my dad that I'm coming home because I know he doesn't like the idea. So it'll be a surprise.
It's been two days since our kissing incident. I didn't tell this to Laura, maybe she gets extremely shocked after listening, or maybe she'll get heart-attack or something. I force myself to forget that but I couldn't. It kept coming into my mind, and each time it gave me goosebumps.
I thought after our so-called intense moment, he'll change. But I was wrong. He ignored me, he actually ignored me. Whenever I came in front of him, he just walks off. No sorry, nothing. Am I that bad? He still confused me. Actually, he irritates me.
So, I ignored him too. I also have my self-pride.
I have only been an hour away from home. And I haven't been there since I started college. If dad doesn't stop me to come then I would have been back many times. There are so many questions running in my mind related to my mother. And I thought, maybe going back there give me some answers.
Two hours drive made me hungry since I had taken only a cold coffee in the morning. And now I'm starving.
I pull into our driveway and practically jump out of the car. I get to the door and without knocking, I entered. I walk inside and find Angela standing by the brown leather couch in her dress and hair tied up into a messy bun. Everything looks the same, clean and perfectly organized, well thanks to her.
My father's house is small and unappealing from the outside, but the inside is decorated nicely and perfect. The house is warm and the familiar smell of lavender fills my nostrils. Angela is always obsessed with lavender and has it all over the house. I take my shoes off at the door, knowing that she won't want the dirt on her polished hardwood floors.
"Oh my god Alice, you really surprised me," she says and pulls me into a hug "I'm so happy to see you. How are you?"
"I'm good. Where is dad?" I haven't talked to him since my birthday because I'm still angry at him, maybe I never forgive him for this. He broke my trust.
"He's at the coffee shop and he'll definitely going to be surprised when he knows that you are here" she replied.
I return a slow smile. 'I hope so' I tell myself. Because I know he won't like my surprise. I don't know why.
"Would you like to have some coffee, Alice?" she asked as walking into the kitchen.
I follow her. "Umm...... Okay," I say, beside from the fact that right now I want a proper meal to eat.
"So, everything is okay?" she asks.
I take a sip of my coffee "Yeah, everything is fine".
She nodded.
"Can you have something to eat?" finally I ask. And she smiles "Of course we have, just give me a second".
Maybe she's not as bad as I thought. I don't why I'm thinking this now, maybe because of my dad's letter, or maybe because I'm thinking about her from a different perspective.

As I know, dad arrives on time, after closing the shop. Seeing him walk toward me reminds me of his betrayal.
He smiles his warm perfect smile. "I missed you, sweetheart".
But I kept silent. He walks closer and stands up to hug me. I want to hug him too. But instead of that, I say "There is so much to ask, dad".
