Chapter 4: Memories of the past

-Ash's POV(3rd person)

The rest of the day passed by quickly with nothing much happening. Ash found his dorm and moved in with his new dorm mate, Clemont. Ash unpacked his stuff and crashed onto his bed, quickly falling asleep as it was 11:00 at night. 

In Ash's Dream/Flashback 

It was a sunny day, a perfect one for a birthday, and Ash Ketchum was in luck since it was his. Today was the day that he turned 6 years old. His neighbor Yellow, his brother Red, and his mom and dad all attended as well as some friends he met around the neighborhood. They all ran around in the yard, except for Ash's mom and dad who were preparing pizza and cake.

The kids started to get farther from the house, as the yard was very large. Soon they were approximately 1 acre away. Suddenly, they saw Ash's house go up in flames. A man named Giovanni had burned Ash's house down, killing his mom and dad. Ash mourned their untimely demise for years to come.

When Ash was ten, he got his partner Pokémon, Pikachu. They didn't get along at first, but soon became best friends. Together, he and Red set off for Giovanni, and destroy him as he did to their parents. At this time Red was 15. A year later, they found Giovanni and managed to capture him, thanks to Ash, but mostly Red and Mewtwo. Giovanni was sent to prison, and was later executed for all the crimes he committed.

Ash was 12. He was in the Sinnoh region with his best friend, Sophia. Sophia has brown hair that went down to her shoulders. Her hazel eyes were something he treasured. She was a kind, smart, athletic, and loving girl. However, she was captured by a group of Pokémon hunters and when Ash tried to save her, she was killed in front of his eyes. Ash was devastated. Along with his parents, his best friend had died. The hunters each served a lifetime in jail.

Two and a half years ago, his brother and his brother's girlfriend died in a plane crash. Ash was the only survivor. Ash had lost everyone and everything he cared about. Ash tried to commit suicide but right when he was about to slit his own throat, Froakie threw his frubbles on Ash's neck to catch the knife without killing Ash. At this point, Ash realized he did still have a purpose to live, and that was to take care of his Pokémon. Ash was ever grateful to Froakie, as he saved his life, now two times. In fact, Froakie had a similar story to Ash, as his parents were both killed by the same Pokémon Hunters that killed Sophia. This was how Ash met Froakie and they have been best friends ever since. 

Now Ash was getting bullied at his new school, by people he met today, even though they would be devastated if they knew what he had been through. However, there were two people still, that managed to comfort him. Lillie and the girl he met when he was 8, in a summer camp in the middle of the forest, but little did he know she had changed, changed to a rich famous snob who unlike Ash, got a perfect life with everything she wanted. Ash wished to know her name, but didn't, and why would he? That was a long time ago, when Ash still had a lot of people he cared about.

Ash woke up panting, as the memories zoomed back into his head. Why was his life so difficult? He needed answers, yet had none. Ash got ready for school, then headed to his first class wondering what life would throw at him this time.
