Chapter 13: Fennekin's journey

-Ash's POV-

What did he just say? He wants me to do a romance novel based on a summer camp with Serena? Surely this is some sort of joke, right?! Nobody here knows that I fell in love with a girl that looked like Serena at a summer camp. They don't live in my dorm, so they couldn't know. It feels like we were almost destined to do this together. 

I look at Serena, and she seems to share a similar mind. I bring her back to reality by saying, "Sooooo.... when and where do you want to start doing this?" She jumps before saying "Sunday. 1 PM. At Charizard Cafe in town." I nod, telling her that I will be available then. Some kid asks the class when our story will be due, and he tells them it will be due on December 19, the day before winter break starts. Since it is October 3rd today, that means we have a while. It looks like the teacher expects a long novel.

-Serena's POV-

Wait. Wait. Wait. Did he just say what I think he said. I am basically writing a story out of my life and I get a chance to restart? This is just perfect! We have over 2 months too, and I love romance novels, so this will be a breeze. I tell Ash the date and place to meet me so we can start writing and he agrees! Oh my Arceus, you do not know how excited I am. Anyways, since it was just final period, I am free to go to my dorm. 

When I get to my dorm, I notice Fennekin sitting on my bed. I grab a brush and start brushing her tail. "Fenn Fennekin?(Why are you so excited)" she asks. "Oh Fennekin you wouldn't believe it! I am getting partnered with Ash for a two month project about a summer camp romance! If only the boy from summer camp was here. I wonder what he would say. I did see Ash was thinking about something when it was brought up though, which is weird."

I see her look at me with a disappointed look and see her with her palm on her head for some reason. When I ask her what's wrong she just responds with, "Fenn..ekin" which means 'nothing, don't worry'. I shoot her a suspicious look, but she just turns away, so I decide to ignore it.

-Fennekin's POV-

Oh god how dumb can you get. Isn't it obvious he is that boy you met in summer camp? He looks exactly like him and I know if you went inside his room, you would find a picture of him and you. Although, apparently it ISNT obvious because me and Ash's Pikachu and Froakie seem to be the only people or Pokémon who know what's going on. I just hope either Ash or Serena or both notice before it's too late. I think they unconsciously recognize each other too. They seem to have fallen for each other, but Serena tells me, and Ash tells Froakie, that they will only love Honey/that boy from summer camp. Ughhhhh, they're so dumb.

I have been sneaking out to see Froakie when our trainers are asleep. And it's not exactly hard either. Half the time they fall asleep before 8 for whatever reason. Froakie told me today, when our trainers were at school, that he wanted me to come over later tonight. This time might be hard though, since Ash and Serena don't plan on falling asleep too early.

 Around 10, Serena falls asleep. It takes me almost an hour to sneak my way into Ash's room without anyone noticing. I guess there is a reason why the boy and girl dorms are on the opposite side of school. When I get to Ash's dorm, Froakie quietly greets me and pushes the door open for me to get in. I step inside and notice that Froakie is pointing to a cabinet. On the top is a photograph. There appears to be something written on the back. I ask Froakie to use his frubbles to make a chain for me to climb. As quickly and quietly as possible, he complies and I am able to make out three words. Ashy and Honey. Bingo! We struck gold! Since Serena remembers the boy from summer camp calling her honey, and it isn't exactly a common nickname at that age, I am 99.99% sure that Ash was that boy. I point to the picture and then make a heart. Froakie tries to contain his laughter, but he can't quite. Froakie looks horrified and tells me to run. He jumps on the bed while I rush to the door and open it so I am free. Luckily, Ash isn't 100% awake yet, so he will think that Froakie will just have been having a bad dream. I manage to push the door closed just as Ash wakes up, so I am safe. I stop to hear Froakie for a while to make sure he is safe. Ash asks Froakie what happened. Froakie's laugh honestly sounded like a scream to me, so he is able to make Ash think he had a nightmare. When I hear Froakie explain it though, I get kind of angry. "Fro Fro Froakie Frok Froa-KIE!(I had a dream of a demonic Fennekin attacking me while I ate Pokepuffs!)" Really Froakie? You think I am demonic? You will pay for this in the morning! Ash believes him, and I make my way back to Serena's dorm.

When I get there, the clock outside says 12:30 AM. I hear something that scares me. The toilet flushing. Serena steps out of the bathroom just as I step in the dorm. "FENNEKIN! WHERE THE HELL WERE YOU?!"

This chapter was the first one mainly centered on a Pokémon. In this case it was Fennekin. I hope you guys enjoyed and I will see you in chapter 14.
