Chapter 12: Writing Assignment

Thank you guys for over 425 reads. I know that the last few chapters Ash and Serena have been thinking too much and not that much action has unfolded yet. So hopefully, that will change soon :).

-Serena's POV-

The day is Thursday. I have had to pretend that I am in love with Calem still and am forced to bully people or Calem would get suspicious. I make my way to English class, but find Ash before I get there. I can't bring myself to bully him. His past is so miserable and if I bullied him, it would only make things worse. And besides, Calem isn't here to tell me what to do.

I look into his eyes. It only lasts a brief second, and yet I see something in his eyes. It looks almost like...recognition? But why would he recognize me? And then something else pops into my mind. It is an image of the boy from summer camp dancing around. I push the thought away and make my way to English.

-Ash's POV-

I was talking with Alain before I decided to go to class. Just as I came out of the hallway though, I saw Serena. I feel bad for her, I don't think she wants to bully people anymore. Otherwise, why wouldn't she push me over?

We look at each other for only a brief second. Yet when I look into her eyes, I see a girl. Not just any girl, though. I see Honey. I see her spinning around in a bright pink dress, as she leans down and picks up a flower. Our favorite flower. A tulip. I push my thoughts away from Honey, and follow Serena to English class.

-Serena's POV-

When I get to English class, I notice Ashy- wait I mean Ash right behind me. Why did I say Ashy again? Anyways, he must of been following me since we have English class together. I notice there are only 2 seats left, and they are next to each other. I realize this means Ash will be sitting next to me, and for some reason I'm happy about that. I go to take a seat in the left chair, while Ash sits on the right. When I look at him he seems ...happy? Why would he be happy with me? Why doesn't he hate me for bullying him? 

I don't have time to dwell on it though, since he sits down and the teacher begins to talk. He teaches us about romance stories, although some of the ones he points out are a bit too cliche for my liking. I notice Ash feeling the same way. 

When we get to the end of class, Professor says something that shocks me. He said that we will be writing a romance story with the person we are currently sitting next to. And that's when I realized I was writing a romance book with Ash Ketchum. He tells us that's not all though, because he is giving us prompts. Some people get prompts like "classmates", "traveling companions", "best friends", or even "neighbors". Other people get places, such as "school", "beach", or "hotel". Then he points at us two, and can you guess what he said? He said, 

"Ash and Serena, you will be writing a romance novel based on a summer camp."
