Chapter 39: The Halloween Festival

*Serena's POV*

It was October 31st, the day of the Halloween party. I pulled out a black suit from my closet, and a headband, before putting them both on. I really hope Ash likes my outfit! I check in the mirror and see a black cat staring back at me. It is a semi revealing outfit, as my belly button is showing, but today I am dressing to impress. I do my makeup and I am fully ready to go. I make my way downstairs since the party is in the gym. 

When I arrive, I see loads of people in costumes, streamers, pumpkins, really almost anything. If it's related to Halloween, it's there. I see a table with food, and see someone chowing down on as much food as they can eat. Oh wait, that's Ash. I make my way over to Ash, and tap him on the shoulder.

Ash stops eating immediately. He turns around with a face that screams he was caught doing something illegal. He takes one massive swallow and then says, "Serena! You look gorgeous! How are you today?"

I face palm at his stupidity, then tell him I'm fine. "Well, that's great Serena, but could I continue eating now?" I sigh. "Oh come on Ash, you have had enough. Can you please dance with me?" I flutter my eyelids, pleading him to go.

He suddenly flashes me a huge smile. "Of course!" 

We dance to a few songs, before Ash drags me to the side. "Serena, I wanted to a-ask you something." Could he be talking about what I think he is talking about? "Ok." 

Ash takes me outside, and we sit under the willow tree. 

"Serena, I just wanted to let you know that you make my day better. You always have since I was young, Honey. You are a beautiful, smart, kind girl, and I just want to tell you I love you. I would appreciate it if you were to be my girlfriend but of course you don't have to if y—-" I cut him off right there by giving him a kiss on the lips. 

I think back to when I was dating Calem, to when I was bullying Ash. I changed, but I guess we are always Changing. That's how life is, sometimes. 

"So does this mean you want to be my girlfriend?"

I peck him on the lips again. "Of course it does silly."

Serena and Ash went through some problems in their relationship, but they were always to able to work them out in the end.
