Chapter 24: The amusement park

-Serena's POV-

The day is Friday and it's almost time to go to the amusement park. I told him that I will meet him outside the school at 5:30 and it's 5:00 now. I don't want to dress too fancy, cause he is just my friend(though I wish it was more), and it's not like it's a big outing. So I just put on a white and black shirt, a white cap with a pink Pokeball logo on it, some navy blue sweatpants, and some white sneakers with black laces. Then I make my way to the front of the building, and wait a few minutes before Ash shows up. When he comes, I look at his outfit. He is wearing a white and black shirt with blue jeans, and doesn't(for once) have his hat on. He actually looks quite nice. "Hey Serena, you look great! Ready to go?" he says. I respond with, "You too! And sure! Let's get going!" 

We walk for a few minutes before we get to the amusement park. The park had 5 different sections. One main one called Pokémon Plaza, and four others surrounding it. The smaller ones were named Delphox Drive, Chesnaught Corner, Greninja's Game Zone, and Pikachu Park. There were some rides in Pokémon Plaza, but the main one was the Ferris wheel, and I wanted to save that for later. "Which one should we go to first?" I ask him. "You should choose Serena." "Well, since I have a Fennekin, and her evolved form is Delphox, I am going to go with Delphox drive first!" And so we headed off to Delphox drive. 

To get there, we have to go over a small bridge. On the bridge, we saw Clemont and Korrina together. I thought it was pretty clear that they were on a date, as they ARE boyfriend and girlfriend, and they were kissing. But Ash decided to ignore those facts and yelled out, "Hey Clemont and Korrina!" To be honest, I was jealous of them, since I wanted that type of relationship with Ash. But for now we were just friends. I dragged him off, and gave Clemont and Korrina a 'sorry about Ash' kinda look. They just shrugged, and went back to doing their thing while I pulled Ash across the bridge. 

"Ash! Couldn't you see that they wanted some alone time!" He just looked at me with a confused face. "They were here on a date. Did you see them kissing?" "Ohhhhhhhhhhh. I must not have caught that." Of course he didn't catch it. Typical Ash. To be fair, they broke their contact as soon as Ash noticed them and yelled out. "Of course you didn't catch it. Anyways, I was wondering when we should work on our story more." "How about we work on it more on Monday at my dorm?" "Ok, that sounds like a good plan." I smile at him for thinking of such a good plan. "What ride should we go on first?" "Let's go on the drop tower!"

And we were off. We went to the drop tower, the bumper cars, and a few other rides before taking a small break. All of the time, I was trying to hide the fact that I am his childhood best friend and am in love with him. And so far, I have been doing a good job. We decide to stop at a hotdog place. He asks me what I want, and I just say that I want a hot dog, fries, and a vanilla milkshake. He gets the same as me, but with a chocolate milkshake. It brings me back. We exchange some small talk for a few minutes before he heads off to get our food. When he comes back, he asks me a question. "Hey Serena, what would you do if your childhood best friend came back, but you didn't know they're that person?" Ah, so I see he hasn't realized that I'm Honey yet. "Why are you asking, Ash?" Oh how bad I want to reveal myself now, but I have already decided to keep playing this game. And he goes on to explain everything that has happened from Wednesday onwards. Like I didn't know the story. "Well Ash, from what you tell me, it seems like this girl, 'Honey' you call her, is the girl from your childhood. And from what you tell me, she is playing around. It's just a theory, but I think she wants you to find out her true identity by yourself. This started on Wednesday, correct?" He nods. "Well, there haven't been any new students, as far as I can tell. I think, she either chose to only start now, which would be unlikely, since you have been here for a few weeks already, OR she just realized that you are Ashy, the boy from her childhood." He puts some thought in to it, and then says something. "I think you may be right. But I do have a question for you, how do you know my nickname? I never mentioned it." I start to internally panic. I was not about to be called out for a small blunder. But then I remember something. "I was in the yard spying on Fennekin and Froakie on Wednesday and you saw me, remember ? While I was following them, I heard a voice calling you 'Ashy', so I assumed from that and what you told me, that that was your nickname." He looks at me and beams. "Oh, ok!" Phew, that was a close one. Too close for me. But luckily, he didn't catch on just yet.

We go around riding rides and playing games. It is now 11:00, so we decide to ride the Ferris wheel, and then go back. And so, we get in line for the Ferris wheel. The line is not that long, since it is pretty late at night. We step into line, and await our turn. 

-Ash's POV-

It is almost time to tell her. I'm glad that I was able to know more about Serena today. And I think that Serena gave me some good ideas of what Honey might be up to. Now that I think about it, they look remarkably alike. But then the wheel starts moving again, and now there is only one pair ahead of us. When it's our turn, we get on the car together, and sit down. The Ferris wheel starts going and I tap her on the shoulder while I bring out my phone. "Serena, I think you need to see something." I show her the video, and to my complete surprise, she squeals and  hugs me tightly. I say to her, "Uhhhh....you do know what this means, right?!" She nods, pure joy all over her face. "Of course I do! I can finally break up with Calem!" "Then, why are you happy about that?" I say. "You don't get it, Ash. I thought I told you that Calem was a possessive boyfriend, and made me change in a horrible way. In fact, that's why I changed my hair. I cut it to show that I am back to my younger, happier self, and he can't harm me anymore. I have wanted to break up with him ever since we became friends (AN: by this she means again, but Ash doesn't know that she was the girl) , as you made me realize that what I was doing was horribly wrong. The problem was, he won't let me off the chain without proof, so I need to have your phone number so I can show him the evidence, and also so we can keep in touch about the project." I give her my phone number, and she tells me to text me the video, so I do. Then out of nowhere, she hugs me again but quickly releases me. "Thank you again, Ash! Now I will break up with him whenever I see him next!" I notice that we are at the top, so I go to the camera app and take a selfie with her. I send her the video link and the selfie that we took and she just flat out beams at me. 

Once the ride ends, we exit the park together, and I offer to take her to her dorm, and she accepts. We get to her room, and she thanks me for the fun night and tells me that she really enjoyed it and would like to do something like this again. She then goes in her room, says bye to me, and closes her door, before I head back to my dorm.

Another difficult chapter to write. Three major things happened, and I had to make sure the timing was right. Another struggle was setting up their outfits, and naming the sections of the park. Regardless, I hope you guys did enjoy and I will see you guys in the next chapter :).
