"Did you study for Potions?" Lorelai asks a tired looking Draco. He was supporting his head on his hands as if it were the only thing keeping his head on. They were sitting in the back corner of the library, surrounded by bookshelves where nobody would see them. It was near curfew.

"When is it?"

"Umm, tomorrow morning."

"Well that's just fantastic." He answers with a groan. It was pretty obvious he didn't study.

"I'll take that as a no."

"I've had too much on my mind."

"If you want, I can help you, at least the key points of what is going to definitely be on the test." She offers.

"I wouldn't want to take you away from your studies."

"I finished studying last night for the test, Draco."

"Then what are you studying for now?"

"I'm writing the History of Magic essay." She answers. Her eyes nearly bulge out of her head when she sees his look of complete cluelessness. "You know, the three piece of parchment essay about the Witch Trials of 1692 that's due tomorrow afternoon." Draco's face morphs from cluelessness to realization. "The one that counts for fifty percent of our grade this term." She adds. "Jesus Christ, Draco have you done any of the work due this term?"

"I did last week's Transfiguration essay and that analysis for the Regirminating Potion." He defends.

"That's it?"

"There was more?"

"Draco you're going to fail the year!" She exclaims.

"That doesn't really matter anyways."

Her mind stops when she hears those words come out of his mouth. She knew very well what he meant when he spoke them. He thinks that the Dark Lord will prevail, he thinks that the world will go to shit. If Voldemort wins this war, school would be completely useless, once the wizards would be of age, they would join his dark works. She tried to think of something to say, anything that would bring him out of his misery, but she couldn't. She couldn't risk giving him false hope because as much as she wanted to believe that Harry would bring Voldemort to his downfall, she couldn't help but think that it was impossible for a sixteen year old boy to take down a seventy year old one.

"Don't dwell on uncertainties, Draco. You don't know what will happen in the future, nor do I, but do you really want to risk failing?"
