Today was finally Friday. The last day of a very long week, and most importantly, the day of the quidditch try outs. Fifth, sixth and seventh years only had classes until noon so Lorelai, Ginny and Fay decided to get in a quick training until tryouts at four in the afternoon. After lunch Lorelai and Fay headed to their dormitory and grabbed their quidditch gear before meeting up with Ginny.
"Ready?" Fay asked as we stepped foot outside of the castle.
"I'm excited. And as Harry's co-captain I am telling you both in advance that you already have a spot on the team. Harry told me this morning. I mean Fay, you're the best beater we got and Lore you're even a better chaser than I am."
"We need a new keeper right?" Lorelai asks, "I heard Finn got traumatized after that game. He said he never wanted to play again."
"Boy's are so fragile." Fay says.
"Oh yeah"
"Without a doubt"
Ginny and Lorelai answer at the same time. The three girls approach the quidditch pitch and head into the Gryffindor girl dressing room. They quickly get changed and head to the pitch.
"Ron's trying out for keeper. Heard he is going up against McLaggen for the spot." Ginny says before mounting her broom.
"Don't worry. McLaggen might be quick but is to cocky for his own good. He'll probably end up messing up." Lorelai says reassuring Ginny.
"So what drills should we start with girls?" Fay asks. The three girls flew their brooms around ten meters into the air and stopped. "How about you two work on passing and dodging while I try and hit you two with bludgers."
"Sounds good to me. Remember to use the impediment jink to freeze the bludgers if you can't dodge them. We wouldn't want to be getting hurt before the tryouts."
The girls practiced for an hour and a half. By the time they were done they were exhausted. They used the hour they had before tryouts to rest.
"We killed it out there." Fay exclaimed.
"You nearly killed us Fay." Lorelai said while taking a sip of her water.
"Sorry about that"
"Don't worry about it, we love the challenge." Ginny said. "I'd like to see Bell try and take my spot this year."
"She has no idea what's coming for her. Hey is that Ron?" Lorelai asks. "Oi, what are you doing here so early."
"I thought I could get in some practice beforehand." Ron says.
"I told you to come with us before, why do you never listen." Ginny says. Her brother isn't very intelligent when it comes to thinking ahead.
"Come on, go stand at the goal posts. We are exhausted but we'll throw some standard shots towards you." Lorelai says as the group goes flying to one of the goal posts.
