Several nights have passed since Ron made his way back to his friends. That is, several nights since Ron was doing everything he can to get back into Hermione's good graces, which was proving to be much more difficult than anyone expected. It was quite amusing actually. Watching Ron agree with everything Hermione does just to have her ignore him and walk in the other direction. But Ron was hell-bent on patching things up between them, he wouldn't give up, even if it meant making a complete fool of himself several times a day. Ron has pestered Lorelai a couple of times, asking her about Hermione and if she was ever going to forgive him, but she really had no idea what was going on in her friends mind. Hermione has been a closed book ever since his arrival."Ah, shit." Lorelai hissed bringing her index finger to her mouth. She had just burned her finger on the kettle while making a tea for Hermione who was currently on watch duty outside. That's what happens when you let your mind wander.
Before exiting the tent she makes sure to wrap a blanket around her shoulders so she doesn't freeze to death during the few minutes she spends outside in the cold empty night. Ron and Harry were sitting on one of the beds talking about Lord knows what and Lorelai couldn't handle the bordem any longer. She exits the tent, one hand holding the cup of tea and the other hand holding onto the blacket draped around her. Hermione was sitting on the ground a few meters from the tent, Rita Skeeter's book propped on her lap and she was using her wand for light. The only thing she ever really did now was read that book. Sometimes even reading the same page several times before moving on to the next.
"Reading with little to no light is bad for your eyes, Mione." She calls out from behind causing Hermione to turn around. "Here, I got you some tea."
"Thank you, you're the best." Hermione said before taking a sip. "Mhm — take a look at this, it keeps on popping up everywhere. First at the wedding, then at Godric's Hollow and now in this letter from Dumbledore to Grindelwald. Weird, don't you think?"
Taking the book from Hermione's hand she takes a quick look. "It is a bit odd, I have to agree with you there. Do you know what it means?"
"No, but maybe Harry does."
"Or Ron." Lorelai adds to which Hermione just glares at her. "Oh come on, you can't stay mad at him forever."
Just as Hermione was about to open her mouth to answer, Harry's shouting could be heard from the tent. "What's going on in there?" Hermione asks as she enters.
"Nothing!" Both boys answer immediately.
"We need to talk."
"Yeah, alright." Ron answers straight away.
"I want to go see Xenophilius Lovegood." Hermione starts.
"Sorry?" Harry asks, not understanding where the idea is coming from.
"See this?" She shows Harry the book. "It's a letter Dumbledore wrote to Grindelwald. Look at the signature, it's the mark again. It keeps cropping up! In "Beedle the Bard", in the graveyard in Godric's Hollow."
